Appearing on NBCs Meet the Press, former Pennsylvania Senator and 2012 presidential candidate Rick Santorum bashed Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), saying that Cruzs crusade against Obamacare had ben counterproductive. I would say in the end, he did more harm. I think it was not his objective," Santorum said.
He continued: "I think his objective was a laudable one. I think he didn't do a very good job of planning it out. I think it's one thing to have a goal and another thing to have a plan to get you to that goal
Unlike the Democratic party who has a leader, has the president, there isn't a leader in the Republican Party right now. That's part of the problem. That's part of the mess and the confusion. But that's always the way it is with a party out of power. You have lots of different faces and those faces, as we've seen, they come and they go."

Done!
And what has Santorum ever said or done that increases the chances of true conservatives being heard in the GOP. The guy is a nut that didn’t have/doesn’t have a kernel.
This is a good a day as any to finally remove that Santorum sticker from my car.
No, not from Texas - glad to hear some background on what happened in the Primary. If there were anything disingenous about Cruz, that would have been the time to flesh it out. But, as we saw with Palin, much bigger guns are used in the Presidential elections. I don’t really care about any of that — if Cruz is the real deal, then We the People may finally have a real choice.
We are still waiting on what Little Ricky’s strategy is. He does not like Cruz’s strategy. Please enlighten us what Little Rick’s strategy is?
I’ll try to remember to listen to Mark tomorrow night; I’d like to hear what he has to say about this.
Mark’s not perfect; he’s a human being, after all. But he’s still the most solid talk person out there, IMO.
When will some conservatives wake up to the fact that there are two distinct sides of the Republican party - one traditionalist, conservative, and patriotic - and the other side collaborators with our enemies?
It's high time the country club establishment RINOs were called out for what they really are -- enemies to the people, just like the Democrat party (their 'friends on the other side of the aisle').
You are right. Cruz IS the leader of the GOP grassroots, but the progressive establishment are loathe to accept the fact. I don’t make much of what Santorum said here. He is simply wrong, b/c everything Cruz said about the UCA was dead right. Bob
Seriously, what is the difference between bringing one’s deceased brother home for his family to pray over, and laying out someone in a funeral home? I respect Rick for what he did, instaed of pretending that his son never existed. BTW, I think he is dreadfully wrong about Cruz’ brilliant tactics endeavoring to stop Obama”care”. Bob
Sorry. I was saying to Rick that I’m sorry I supported him. I had his bumper sticker on my car! Sigh. I hope we can pick an actual fiscal conservative with balls (or ovaries) for president. We get stuck with all the Rinos.
Thanks C. Edmund Wright. He also rushed to condemn George Zimmerman.
Even pigs have standards.

Hey! Where d’at bein’ smart as serpents an ‘em?
to clarify, you talking about me or RS?
Many are aware that Santorum supported Specter in 2004.
Not many are aware that Santorum was truly dedicated to Arlen Specter and was supporting him for the 2010 election also, until Specter finally switched parties and actually became a democrat.
I never liked Santorum right from the start. Must have been my 6th sense which rarely fails me in politics.
He’s going to run in the next primary and this is his first shot at the current frontrunner. Nothing more, nothing less. Politics is hardball. Cruz can take the punch.
In response to C. Edmund Wright,
On the subject of Rick Santorum, any denegration of character that I sling, is toward him, only, sir.
Rick Santorum, was “a single-issue-candidate”, and ineffectual,at that.
What a straw argument. No one said Cruz couldn't take it. No one said it wasn't about politics, so all you've done is establish the obvious. What you fail to understand, and many consultants and candidates fail to understand also, is that this is not about destroying each other to "get to the finals." This NEVER EVER EVER works. This is not the NFL play offs or March Madness.
The way to win is to put points on the board against the enemy NOW....better than other people on our team...NOT put points on the board against each other. Very very close minded thinking....
