In early September, the Convention of States Project began searching the country for citizens who recognized the brokenness of D.C. and were ready to be a part of the solution. Since the release of its Volunteer Leadership Application, the Grassroots Team has reviewed hundreds of names. Each application highlights a common desire to serve the nation and defend its freedoms for future generations.
We are excited to announce that twenty-six states now have active leadership in place.
One recently-appointed leader explained, I dont want to take the chance of sitting aside thinking that perhaps someone else will jump in and do it and then not have it happen. So I am putting myself out there and am offering my time and my talents to help get this going. Every day, citizens, no longer willing to sit on the sidelines, stand up and take tangible steps to return rightful power back to the states.
State Directors are now active in: AL, AK, AZ, AR, GA, IA, KS, MD, MA, MN, NJ, OH, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, and WV.
Legislative Liaisons are working in: AZ, DE, IA, NH, NC, TX, and VA.
Coalitions Directors are looking for organizations who will partner with COS in: AL, AK, AZ, CO, GA, IA, KS, MD, MT, NY, OH, SC, and TX.
Its not too late to join the growing ranks of citizens who are taking their place amongst the great leaders in American history. United we will stand. Undivided we will be successful. Together we will save the future of our homeland.
Join us.
That's worked out well everywhere it's been tried. Not.
Ultimately it may take a number of measures to keep government in check. Ultimately it is the people and their force of arms which will keep government in check. Certainly the SCOTUS wont do it.
Goodness knows, our current court system is extremely far from perfect, but it's better than no court system at all. "The people" do not agree on the meaning of the Constitution, and the central cities are as well-armed as the heartland. Are we to decide every constitutional question by shoot-outs in the streets? I'll take Chief Justice Roberts over that system.
Military power is the only way marxists are ever thrown out of office. Either by its use to stop marxist military advance, societal collapse where the military refuses to maintain the marxists in power, or removing them. From power and restoring freedom to people. Is there risk ? Of course. But actually it has worked well where it has been tried. Chile comes to mind.
The debates of the Constitutional Convention show clearly that the power of the courts to decide "all Cases, in Law and Equity, arising under this Constitution, [and] the Laws of the United States" (U.S. Const., Art. III, section 2), was intended to include the "power of deciding on their Constitutionality...[and to] actually set aside laws as being agst. [sic] the Constitution." 1 Farrand 97-98.
Sorry the federalist papers clearly show the Supreme Court had no authority to decide the constitutionality of laws passed by congress. George Mason was very worried about the court as structured by the then new constitution. Hamilton, certainly a pro government individual, argued that the court did not have the power to decide the constitutionality of laws. As well he should because the constitution would never have been ratified had the court the power to determine the constitutionality of laws.
We have a more fundamental problem. How can we as citizens force the federal government to follow the constitution, even as amended. As far as courts are concerned our remedy is limited to impeachment or the elimination of the judges seat. Neither of these options are possible because of marxists in congress.
Congress can no longer be controlled by the people. The seats of incumbents are generally protected by gerrymandering and the propaganda news media. Throw in voter fraud and the incumbents are essentially protected from being voted out of office. What to do? I am certainly open to suggestion.
The presidency will do whatever it wants as long as a dim president is in the White House. The senate will protect the dim incumbent .
So where do we go to find the power necessary to protect our freedom? Certainly not the voters. Large American cities are in the tank for the marxists.
I do not believe 0 will leave office at the end of his term unless the military forces him out. He will do his best to be Hugo Chavez. Mark my words.
“Apathy will kill the conservative movement in this country, it is already weakened from attacks outside and from within the political affiliations we all make these days...”
I would say the biggest threat is and always has come from Government run education. When politicians choose what people learn they tend to choose things that benefit them and their institutions.
Hence the Heavy emphases upon supposed industrial revolution “horrors” like ‘child labor’ in school despite the fact that this as not nearly what they suggested it would be.
Well, you know those local school board elections are certainly a good starting point, wouldn’t you say???
Clean up those cesspools, and we can start turning the tide...
Mark Levin's The Liberty Amendments would seem to be suggested reading for your study. All of your questions and objections are addressed there.
I’ve got that in my stack of stuff already...I understand, and have read through it...
You are correct, some of the things within that book do apply to our situation/condition now...
Where there are technical applications of what Levin put in his book there, I still believe there will be a tapering off of interests between now and the next major election and the voting public, that would be on our side, will have to be re-energized, at some considerable cost to campaigns and other measures to be ready for next November...
And some of those people will already be tired of this process and be apathetic leading into November 2014...
That is not anyones fault but that individual...Apathy has always favored the politically moderate, and worked for the majority in whatever capacity or organization that majority reigns...
Yes, we may have the House right now, but if we do not encourage a 12 month campaign to shame, and remove ANY and ALL apathy from the voting base that needs to absolutely be there in 2014...We might as well quit now, hunker down and wait for the inevitable collapse of this experiment...It was a good run...We got over 230+ years out of this one...
Maybe on the next one, we can keep it going for a little longer till it fails...
Perhaps it is a failing of mine but I'm incapable of giving up. See my siggy quote.
Well far from me to be a defeatist...I just do not see enough people out there with enough effective hutzpah to apply the pressure enough to correct the current nonsense...
The opposition is hedging their bets on us not fighting enough to oppose them...And the majority of what we elect to represent us are cowards in every sense of the word...
“What are you prepared to do about it? And what are you willing to sacrifice to achieve those coRrective measures?”
Its a rhetorical, gut-check quesion(s)...Not one requiring an answer in a public forum like this...
“...the dims would say we are against democracy...”
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
I for one am VERY MUCH against democracy. I am sold on a Republic. Now if only so many so-called conservative Republicans would stop referring to this country as a democracy and defend the republic maybe we could make SOME people understand that REAL democracy is a hideous form of government. Far too many Americans are convinced that republic and democracy are just two words with the same meaning. Those who know there is a difference sometimes imagine that a democracy is much better than a republic which is like believing that a cowpie is better than an apple pie.
The nineteenth has caused many of our problems but no one will have the courage to suggest that it be repealed. No one except crazy ol’ Rip, that is. Actually repeal would not take the vote away from women it would simply give the states the right to decide on a state by state basis. I don’t actually know of anything in the constitution before passage of the nineteenth that would have prevented states from allowing women to vote. Maybe I missed something?
By the way I hope that all those who are calling for a concon realize that something has to be done about the blatant fraud in the voting process before states are called on to vote on amendments. There is considerable evidence that amendments have been adopted in the past without ever being ratified by the required number of states. The income tax amendment is one of those. Also wording of amendments would have to be studied and restudied, the sixteenth was never intended to authorize the kind of things being done today by the IRS.
“I suppose in the most strict definition, our republic died at Fort Sumter just over 150 years ago when it was determined to be held together by force of arms rather than the consent of its governed.”
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
That is very much how I see it. A union from which on one can leave is hardly a voluntary one. It is like being married where there is no legal divorce possible.
“I do not believe 0 will leave office at the end of his term unless the military forces him out. He will do his best to be Hugo Chavez. Mark my words.”
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
I believe he will do whatever the puppetmasters tell him to do. They don’t really want to be so obvious, they would probably much rather hold another fake election and install another puppet, even one who calls himself a Republican if necessary. Of course all that assumes that we get from here to the 2016 election without total chaos, something that seems very much in doubt at this point.
“

\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
I don’t like comparing divorce and secession for the simple fact that Marriage is a result of your individual choices and ends in your(or your spouses) individual death. No other earthy parties are directly involved. Your Children, parents, siblings and other relatives are find their involvement with their relationship with you and your spouse. With the sole exception of underage children that relationship is generally consensual.
With government(political union) on the other hand you dealing with something very different and often dangerous. Government is after all by its very nature a union with a primary propose of acting violently against others (presumably without their consent).
Taken to its not at all unusual extreme a Government is nothing short of an empire of thugs using their superiority in force to abuse and make practical slaves of other men.
This ‘force’ however effective is not however among Civilized patriots something necessarily something we call legitimate and therefore something we anchorage you to just submit to without any form of resistance.
Instead in the interest of freedom patriots have decided that a ‘legitimate’ government must have the consent of the governed and respect the natural rights of its people.
Otherwise we patriots are and should be culturally are encouraged to find effective ways to resist and eventually replace the tyranny with something that is legitimate. Otherwise the tyranny will be predisposed to continue its oppressive and destructive tendency forever at the expedience of not only ourselves but all our future posterity.
It is in fact that posterity and their innocents in the matter that is perhaps the biggest distinguishing factor in the injustice of a tyranny. For while a marriage may very well turn into something undesirable for those who had previously agreed to it it does in fact end with them, just as they individually did in fact agree to it if not by their words then their initiating acts. Your posterity while perhaps the product of that marriage had no say in its creation just as they have no involuntary relation to it once they have reached the age of independence.
So what we have now and perhaps have had for 150 year is an illegitimate government, and to that end I do and cannot urge submission to tyranny. Instead as a patriot I am perpetually open to options for restoring the legitimacy. This of course by our American standards means restoring a Constitutional republic.
You are so correct. Democracy is the last stop before anarchy. Merry Christmas!
Concur. They are so close...they may overreach. Plus O care has been a disaster for the dims. That might set them back, even be their undoing. Of course the pubbie elite will probably come the the dim’s rescue, with amnesty. Quite an evil bunch in DC. Worthy of M. Church’s name for DC, Mordor on the Potomac.
If the Income tax is abolished by Amendment.
It can only be reinstated by amendment.
NOT the courts. Not the congress.
Internal war on our soil will be a real threat if they get involved.
Remember Cachoescu died violently in a peaceful revolution.

Half the delegates will be carrying their Communist manifesto’s as a guide book.
Maybe not.
Illinois State Senator Long gives a great explanation of why this wouldn’t likely happen, here.
There’s many questions answered, here...
