For your amusement, the roots of the word DISASTER.
DIS — Bad, as in disgust, distaste, distemper
ASTER — Star
So DISASTER = BAD STAR, or a good word to describe a comet.
There’s a reason why the ancients saw comets as portents of big and usually bad events to come.
The debris field follows the comet and does not lead as does the tail after passing the sun. Illustration indicates that debris field leads the comet as it approaches earth’s solar orbit.
I prefer the Ford Falcon.
I'd rather know, I want to go to my death better than the dinosaurs.
How much physics have you studied? Comets don't travel like hurricanes where experts wonder about which path they will take. In the vacuum of space a known mass traveling at a known velocity will take a very specific path in relation to another large body (the sun). It is the reason we are able to send spacecraft to other planets with incredible accuracy. There are no mystery unknowns that can affect the movement of a comet. Moreover the "Asteroid belt" is a collection of large massive bodies ranging from the size of a car to small worlds. It is not a chaotic zone of dust and debris like those depicted in sci-fi films and video games. There are vast stretches of space separating each and every body. It is why we are able to send planetary probes through it unscathed. It's more than 99% empty space. Get back to me AFTER ISON passes by and then we can discuss if it's a matter of opinion or not. You and this nutty mystic lady will be proven wrong and all the rational scientists of the world will be proven right.
The bottom-line of our comets don't cause CMEs argument is that the SOHO comets never reach the solar surface, they're inconsequentially tiny compared to the Sun...
So it boils down to who are you going to believe? Them or your lying eyes? LOL
The overwhelming evidence, based on many actual recorded collisions, is that they do - even if the scientists don't understand what causes it. Bet they so work on the side as global warming consultants as well. lol
But she shows the debris field leading the comet. The Comet's tail is not the debris field.
Actually we will pass first through ISON”s departure tail then a few days later it’s entrance debris.
What is interesting is that there could be some consequence to this debris field in that it may not burn upon entry into our atmosphere but merely float.
Depending on what is left of the Comet and how large the Tail consumes this breakup could pose interesting consequences to our weather.
Highly hypothetical....but something to watch.
Of course there are the images of breakup pieces of shoemaker-levy hitting Jupiter. Those 1 mile wide chunks created explosions the size of the earth on Jupiter.
Definitely something to watch...
Luckily, I can separate the two, and refuse to speculate on what is, or is not, Biblical prophecy and/or science. There is too much we don’t know about both.
I’m looking forward to seeing the comet!
Yes, but wouldn't you agree that the Mercury Comet is more on topic?
I for one believe that Jesus and the writers of the New Testament were telling the truth when they insisted that all prophecy would be fulfilled in their generation:
