You mean that parents will have to feed their own children?
What a concept!
I hope the media doesn’t report this. That might cause a panicky stampede to the grocery store that would empty out the shelves before I get a chance to do a little more prepping.
Prince Fielder.
I’ve been on of the one’s saying this was coming. There won’t be a deal, if there is I’ll be shocked, but everything still seems to be pointing in the direction of an intentional failure.
I’ll very honest, while some say there is nothing to worry about, I am scared nearly out of my mind. Why? Because what a President should be doing he isn’t and is actually doing the exact wrong things. We will “default” and they will use it to inflict maximum terror and pain.
They control everything and this will destroy any kind of opposition party.
Can I move in with you?
I agree -- of course -- we do the same.
Unfortunately, there are people even here who seemingly can't wait to lock and load the first round, and even get a shot off.
Some, it would appear, are looking forward to the entertainment value of inner city people tearing each other apart, limb by limb, disemboweling and the rest.
I agree with DJF -- the sentiments of some of these people -- and I don't necessarily mean the poster of the original comment that started this who possibly was making a flippant comment or merely discussing prudent prepping -- are entirely unacceptable and a detraction from the rest of us.
Government employees and retired government employees.
(but you knew that, didn't you?)
“As opposed to going looking for a job”
One problem: Most of our jobs have already been exported.
Congratulations. You just won the “Sanest Post Of The Thread” award.
I had to come to terms with the idea of becoming a “survivalist” back in the 1980’s. I had an epiphany one day.
The bible says that where your tresure is, there your heart will be also. It’s why, if you have money in the stock market you want it to go up, but if you’ve shorted a stock, you want it to go down. And with survivalists (similar to todays preppers) you can cross a line from “being prepared, just in case” to “all of my time and money are invested in survivalist supplies and training”. At that point, you are at strong risk of HOPING it happens.
There are two reasons for this, both based on your heavy time and resource investment in it. First, you are so invested that if it doesn’t happen you will be perceived as investing in the wrong thing and being “wrong”. Nobody likes to be wrong. Second, you don’t want to have wasted all that time and money on something you really don’t need.
So you kinda, if not just plain strongly, hope it will happen.
The only way I hope it will happen is that I think there is no human solution and our only hope is a strong phoenix rising from the ashes. But it means there has to be ashes first. And the sooner there are ashes, the sooner the phoenix can rise.
“I need my CCW NOW!”
You already have it. You may not have registered it with the state though. That COULD be a good thing.
“Are democrats evil?”
Is the Pope a . . . Oh, wellll,
Does a bear sh!t in the woods?
You can bet those card holders know where the Krogers is and will be their second stop.
Go to gunbroker . com. You can find it, but you will pay a price for i5.
I was kinda being snarky. But I hear you. If I had the means I’d probably have an underground bunker with provisions and lots of beer ‘cause survival is the keyword in the new frontier.
oh shut up... you know what I mean
oops I think I meant the other guy
LOCK & LOAD!!!!
I'm absolutely certain it wasn't accidental.
