In a stunning development, some military priests are facing arrest if they celebrate mass or practice their faith on military bases during the federal government shutdown.
With the government shutdown, many [government service] and contract priests who minister to Catholics on military bases worldwide are not permitted to work not even to volunteer, wrote John Schlageter, the general counsel for the Archdiocese for the Military Services USA, in an op-ed this week. During the shutdown, it is illegal for them to minister on base and they risk being arrested if they attempt to do so.
According to its website, the Archdiocese for the Military Services provides the Catholic Churchs full range of pastoral ministries and spiritual services to those in the United States Armed Forces.

And Solzhenitsyn was not talking about civil disobedience.

Likewise, Sister.

I work with GS employees. They are not allowed to come to work on their furlough days. My supply guy isn’t even allowed to be in the office on his non-pay day.
It appears our nation is indeed nearing a crossroads. We are able to remain well-informed and connected via the internet; imagine what it would be like if we did not have that capability and perhaps no cell telephone. We would be limited to smaller local groups and be substantially more vulnerable.
Praying they choose the right path to follow. If this happens to me, I will get arrested and accept what happens.

Practice. Like testing the waters. How many people are NOT going in to see what others died for the right to see and others worked to be able to honor.
You are soooooo right on this... my bad. Acting 'cool' like he did in the early days isn't the same as being able to communicate. Same with reading another person's words off a teleprompter...
The reds duped leftist clerymen to get arrested during the Vietnam war, Gulf War I and Iraq/Afghanistan.
It is time that our loyal clergy make the same sacrifice. Ministering to the troops is a sacred honor and privilege. Don’t let Comrade Obama destroy this duty.
Lock them up.The Priests will say Mass.Today is the Feast of St Francis.

What’s your sense on whether volunteers will ignore these “orders”.?
"And then shall that Wicked be revealed..."
Are we there yet? On Thursday it was 1290 days since the Obamanation of desolation signed his Obamasnare obamanation into "law".
Jesus Christ Son of the Living God we love You.I once interviewed a man who St Max took the place of. Lock them up.St Paul would love it.

I’m not Roman Catholic, but this is absolutely right.

Thank you.
We have entered an era of our country’s history during which we must focus on the values we share and not on our differences.
I’m Catholic but I would feel as strongly about this abuse of power if leaders of a different religion were being targeted.
Sadly, the news media is making it sound like it is military chaplains, when, in reality, it is the civilian contractors!
So much evil, words fail. This is real hatred at work.

Thanks sheikdetailfeather.
It is up to us to be the Freedom fighters for our time. Delay, Ignore, Obstruct, Destroy the enemy however you’re able. Google Freedom Fighters and read what they did and how the did it.
Freedom Fighters. Wire cutters.
Will volunteers ignore these orders?
For the Catholics, they pretty much have to have access to the chapel facilities, although a priest could easily call people together in a parking lot if he wasn’t a tradition bound kind of guy. When in the field, that’s essentially how all chaplains conduct services anyway.
For the non-liturgical, free church volunteers that’s exactly the way they are turned. They’ll have service in a day room, a field, a shed, and empty building...you name it.
