Bipolar disorder is manic depression. Comparing it to schizophrenia is like saying the common cold and HIV are the same thing since both have viral origins.
If your family member were institutionalized she would be taking her meds. The pattern is always the same. They take the meds, get to feeling better, realize the meds cause a certain level of intoxicated feeling, and then they stop taking the meds. Then they go bonkers and the pattern starts all over again.
I’m sorry your family member has an incurable, chronic illness. Being institutionalized is far better than being the next Navy Yard shooter, the next person choked to death by other passengers on an airplane, or the next erratic driver in DC.
Well, that certainly explains how her car was dent-free after trying to ram her way through the barricades.
“I am feeling a bit cynical.”
You’re not the only one either.
Yup no need to kill her as i said b4 ..shoot out the tires, the engine anything but her.
Capitol Police F’ed up
I’ll buy the theory that she was tired of keeping her baby daddy under wraps and wanted to expose him. Probably someone in the Capitol who skipped out on his payments!
Well Bi Polar Disorder isn’t schizophrenia. A close family member got along for months and months without meds till something happened.
It is a situation where medical records will not be released. As is sop. Flying blind here.
Let’s see the prescription bottle. Did boyfriend scr** with her head?...Aggravate her?
Why not?
A Paranoid schizophenic freaking out when confronted by armed men. Hard to believe.
You beat me to it!!
I would also add Adam Lanza, the psycho that shot up that school last December. Many of the young school shooters were on psychotropic drugs as well.
Why nothing about this? — except on sites the media labels “nutty”
Result of drugging up America’s youth.

Agree. Cops overreacted...big time!
Mental cases are very open to suggestions.
When you have the airwaves and internet full of suggestions to kill those “evil right wingers” like we’ve had, you can’t take a chance.
Some left wing freak even wanted Obama to turn the military against the republicans.
no firearm, thus far, found or fired by this person. Strange ... more than strange. Medication? Medication can never react different on different people (this sentence is sarcasm). Medication can never be altered (this sentence is sarcasm too).
Not all schizophrenics run around killing people.
So do I.
Where will they be institutionalized exactly? Start naming facilities. Who will pay for their care and imprisonment... i mean treatment?
I doubt you have even the most remote understanding of the mental institution history in this country and the fact that most were shut down due to horrific treatment. Lack of funding and overcrowding turned the mental health profession into the prison profession, except worse because few gave a crap what happened to these people. Everyone wants to lock the crazies up but nobody wants to pay for it.
If the problem is that these horrible meds drive some people absolutely insane, maybe even years after use of them happens, the ptb can't really tell us that. It would mean millions of people potentially hearing voices that make them crazy.
And what's pig pharm's answer? Usually, to "adjust the meds".
