A series of leaked emails from House Speaker John Boehner’s chief of staff, Mike Sommers, show that the Speaker may have coordinated with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nevada) to exempt Congress from Obamacare.
The emails were leaked Tuesday by David Krone, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s chief of staff, who actually has a history of this sort of thing.
The leaks, which are a major taboo in Washington, show Rep. Boehner (R-Ohio) worked behind the scenes earlier this year to address confusion over a provision in the Affordable Care Act that would force members of Congress and their aides into the exchanges. In fact, if one were to go by the leaks, which were first given to Politico, it appears that the offices of Boehner and Reid regularly coordinated to exempt Congress from the health care law.
But given that the Speaker is now apparently against congressional Obamacare exemptions, the emails make him look inconsistent and hypocritical – which may have been the point of their leaking.

I do fault Boehner on this. We the taxpayer are subsidizing Congress’ Obamacare to the tune of 75%. A leader sticks with his people—he doesn’t try to exempt himself from the trouble at hand especially if it will harm the people in his own party more. So, yes, he’s slime and boy oh boy he better not fricking cave, not now.
Its a mistake to trust Reid ever. Boehner was a fool to trust Reid.
In fact, too stupid to be Speaker. He needs to go.
Reid, for his part, is willing to burn his asset (Boehner) in order to get the congressional exemption. That means they are desperate and all in on this.
Beck is talking to L. Gohmert about this right now. Gohmert said he has never seen it. I do not know if it is legit but if you think about it..there could be even more emails we don’t know about. Harry Reid could have just played this card initially as a warning.
But why did they vote against? Out of conviction, or only to provide cover?
F*** him! And his f***ing family! Where is my exemption?! Where is yours?! Where are the exemptions for everyone reading this?! How much of his political capital was he willing to spend to exempt himself while the rest of us got fed to the wolves? Those assholes in DC keep acting like royalty because that kind of behavior is constantly excused.

Recently heard that the DNC was low on funds. Kinda expected this little ‘shut down’ to get the dumb masses to donate. Seems the two parties coordinate these events.

I don’t think anybody here ever had any “faith in Washington” to begin with.
The important thing is not what Boehner did - we all knew he was that kind of politician - but what he’s doing now.
I hope that is true. My fear is that Cruz will be neutralized by the beltway establishment before he can neutralize them. He needs all the support we can give him. Leaders like him don't come around very often.
This is SOP for the Dems. There are countless stories of Reid/Pelosi/Obama going back in their word in negotiations.
If Reid is going to refuse conference and go scorched earth Boehner should just cut him out. Engage the kenyan directly. He should have done that all along. No more freebies for the bystander in chief.

I can sense it and so can those that are paying attention.
It’s easy to understand why Reid did this. He knows the media is lock step with him and he knows they truly see nothing wrong with their masters exempting themselves. So at this time, what difference does it make? Reid believes releasing this will damage boner with the low-info and spoon fed right leaning voter. He’s only trying to drag boner into the gutter with him as he knows it’s really no big deal for him. Boner needs to go but dirty harry just tossed him a bone. Boner is a career politician and now we can lean on him hard to do our bidding or he can face total removal from DC (a place he very much cherishes). Reid only damaged himself as now it is shown in the light of day it doesn’t pay to do any business with the weasel.
