The Obama administration is adding more barricades at the World War Two Memorial in Washington, D.C. this morning, according to reporters on the scene.
The reinforcements are being put in place apparently to prevent a repeat of yesterday when WWII veterans aided by several Republican Congressmen pushed aside barricades to visit their memorial.
Buzzfeed got no response from the White House last night when queried about the administration closing the memorial to veterans.
A report last night claimed that the Park Service would arrest veterans who attempt to visit the WWII Memorial.
If they do then whoever does the shooting becomes a valid target. Doing your "job" does not include shooting veterans in this manner.
Did the Dictator close Arlington National Cemetery as well???
Honey, Obama’s acting out again. We need to ground him, put him on the Naughty Step for a timeout, and maybe send him to bed without his dinner.
“...”......but no one in it looked cold enough.” ...”
I watched that with mu old man when I was a kid.
Pop said, in no uncertain terms “That was bullsh*t” regarding the massive sun-drenched, giant, tank-on-tank engagement that “ended” the offensive. Hollywood took a lot of liberties with that.
He said “Battleground” (1949) was closer to the reality of his experiences in the Ardennes - or as close as Hollywood could get in those days.
Although, in its defense, I believe there is actually a disclaimer in the credits in “The Battle of the Bulge” that says the movie was meant to capture the spirit of the battle, if not the accuracy...
Park official says she was "excepted from furlough" to come to work WWII memorial today
Took daddy last fall. He couldn’t make that trip today. Blessed to still have him with me.
Benny Johnson live Tweeting Congressional press conference/"hearing" at WW II Memorial:
The weirdest press gaggle ever around a park ranger. Including a Rep. Huizenga yelling at the ranger "shame on you!"
This has now turned into a miniature congressional hearing. Rep. Lamborn grilling the park ranger

Park ranger will not answer questions about arresting vets, says "that is an enforcement issue."

This memorial was built with mostly private donations! I want to know when this ass is closing down the abortion facilities that receive federal funding!
And here comes the vets.... Big crowds cheering and applauding pic.twitter.com/kaujTnI5Ye

I was shocked when I heard of this yesterday. Why would you close up an open-air monument?
I ask this also because virtually never is there any authority at these places anyway. My husband and I spent part of our anniversary last year at the WWII Mem, and it was Memorial weekend. Very busy, but even then almost no personnel. Never mind the other monuments.
It’s ludicrous something out in the open is fenced off.
Gee, I wonder if our lovely gov will barricade the nice little WWII memorial in Annapolis. It’s wide-open to the elements too.

I have not been excepted from the furlough — putting up barriers is more important than professional financial management - my skill.
Obama's got his priorities...
btw, THREE people to put up a paper sign!? And they're ALL 'essential'?

80? Try 90. An 80 year old was 12 at the end of WWII. The Dems are clearly on a suicide mission on this one, as the optics could not be worse. Its a public park. Why do you even need employees?
This has Bonus Army and Lexington Green written all over it. It has begun.
