A pretend game of cops and robbers landed a Florida elementary school boy with a very real suspension after he made a pretend gun with his thumb and index finger.
The mother of 8-year-old Jordan Bennett said her son was only playing with his friend at Harmony Community School in St. Cloud. She fears his one-day suspension, which was handed down Friday, wrongly labels Jordan as a violent person.
There was nothing in his hand. He used his thumb and index finger, Bonnie Bennett told WKMG-TV. It was a game. He made no threatening advances or threats to harm anyone. No words were said.
They took a child that has never been in trouble before and went to the extreme, the mother continued. A child that has no history of violence is now classified as a violent offender.
The school, on the other hand, said the game crossed the line established by the districts code of conduct. A school representative told WKMG while they cant give specifics into the incident, it was reviewed and found in violation of school policy. The school did not specify the specific code violation that was grounds for the suspension.

Well they certainly cleared that all up.
IDIOTS!
Harmony Community School, There’s your problem right there.
I don't think they'd like Yu Yu Hakusho, or South Park… or both together.
;)
Well, the kid had only eight other fingers so it probably was legal. But if they were all barrels then the hand gatling was definitely unacceptable!
Possibly, see the link in post 23.
We had tommy guns, silver colored plastic hand grenades, felxible plastic bayonets on rifles and a Johnny Reb cannon for artillery.
Caps cost money, and we would pool our money and buy a box of rolls and did we have fun. Not everyone had the cap firing guns. Those that didn’t provided their own sound efforts.
We were on the honor system, becasue this was before paintguns.
Post 27: efforts = effects.
I can’t remember firing a “hand gun” at school (that is a gun shape formed by my hand, thumb, and forefinger), but off school grounds my cap guns were blazing in and around the yard of my parents’ Nary a call to the police. This was long before 911.
The only thing these people understand is power and force. The only way to get them to back up is to sue them each and every time they do some stupid crap like this.
Parents need to sue that principle for attempting to force their children to undress. Put one or two of these thought police nazis on a sexual offender list and maybe they'll back off a little.
What about saying the word gun or bang out loud?
What about writing the word gun on a piece of paper?
That will not only get you suspended, but you will find yourself the recipient of full SWAT Team turnout.
What about the big "L" for Loser sign on someone's forehead (think the TV show "Glee")? That's really just a Glock pointed at the sky, isn't it? Why, from that perspective, the entire cast of "Glee" promotes gun violence.
I believe it's about inculcating the belief that "politics by other means" is the exclusive purview of the traditional military, because the powers that be have an unbreakable lock on politics by ordinary means.
There's certainly no lack of gunplay coming out of leftist Hollywood. It's not that the doyens of culture want to make everyone petrified of guns, per se; it's that they want to make guns as an instrument of political change...unimaginable.
St. Cloud has lots of very conservatie residnets.
Sooner or later, educators will start tripping over curbs, falling down hills .......
i graduated class of ‘84, there’s so many things it’s mind boggling.
*We had school sanctioned smoking areas on school grounds
If you ran out of cigarettes the teachers let us go into the teachers lounge to get pack from a vending machine.
* There wasn’t hardly a guy in school that didn’t have a sheath with a buck knife in it on his belt.
*we had 22 shooting practice in gym class as well as an extracurricular shooting team.
* I think the only rules were no running in the halls and no chewing gum in class.
Agree. There needs to be a well funded national group that will provide aggressive legal defense in situations like this. Also, since this is war, they also need to fund investigations and exposes of the background of school officials whenever possible to make engaging in thought control stupidity very high indeed.
So many stories like this indicate that there is a nationwide attempt to reprogram little boys as pliable, effeminate little sissies. Hence my utter contempt for the communist-inspired educational system. Damn them all.
