Sen. Barbara Boxer (D., Calif.) claimed on Friday that the federal budget deficit has “been cut in half” under Obama.
Budget figures provided by the White House show that the deficit nearly tripled from 2008 to 2009, when Obama took office, and has remained above $1 trillion since then, though 2013 projections are slightly lower.
The country has seen higher budget deficits during every year of Obama’s presidency than it did during any of his predecessor’s eight years in office.

That’s a very telling statement about how a liberal views the world. So much of his or her self-esteem and identity is dependent on being part of a group that he or she thinks is “wonderful”. And those not in the group are somehow lesser beings.

A trillion down the rabbit hold through stock markets and another 1.5 trillion out the window in the official budget.
We need to go back to the 2007 budget.
Compare Obama to 2007 for the real answer.
Running a yearly 2.5 trillion dollar debt is not a 50% cut in the deficit.

Leftist pols can say pretty much any outrageous falsehood they want, with impunity, because they understand two things: 1) the majority of the general public listens ONLY to mainstream media sound bites, and repeats them to others to prove their "knowledge of politics"; and 2) the mainstream media that is conveying the sound bites is invested in the falsehoods, so they will never correct or question the Leftist pols. It's a win/win circlejerk for the Left.
