Singing at the 10 am mass and also have granddaughter with me. Will return after mass.

As always, thank you AB for doing this thread.

Will the gubmint shut down? Why does that concept NOT bring shivers to me spine? I can’t believe all the gasps and sighs at the mention of a gubmint shutdown, me, I’m hoping it happens. I mean what? We need the gubmint to survive?

I understand after a while it could get nasty, anarchy and all that. But dear Lord we’re talking maybe a couple of weeks here! You’d think the end of the world was coming.

Got a great Common Core story for y’all.

MEET THE PRESS (NBC): Sen. Ted Cruz, R

This could actually be worth watching—just to see the carnage.

The spin has already begun. The MSM have already started “blame the extremist Republicans.”

The government WILL be shut down.

This could be the begining of Civil War II as the states will move to govern themselves because the federal government, as we know it, is no more. The federal government is just a collective of coercive utopians, socialists who have become fascist.

The People may NOW declare that they do not want such a federal government. Obama must resign or be impeached for his treason, lies and deceit, and abusing the legislative process, contrary to the Constitution. If Obama is not impeached, then the federal government can shut down for good.

Let the federal government shut down and NEVER reopen in its present form, the states can convene a convention and establish a NEW federal government based on what the People want, not based on coercion, lies, deceit and treason.

WOW

I woke up in an alternate universe this morning:

Lee?

Paul?

Cruz?

Baclkburn?

and more R’s.

I haven’t seen this many R’s on one Sunday Morning since never. And no McCain or Graham.

Ahhhh. It’s a trick!

Topic of the morning: Why are the Republicans pushing a shutdown of the government?

Hiya, AB!

Expect David Gregory will taunt Ted Cruz about the futility of his "non-filibuster" efforts.

How many times will Gregory mention Green Eggs & Ham?

DNC Dave thinks he is much smarter than Sen. Cruz. After today, he'll know otherwise.

Well, well, well. Democrats are conspicuously absent this morning. Nothing to say? Don't want to be on the record?

In the middle of all the bluster it would be nice if the Republicans would propose a BUDGET - you now, an entire year of spending and revenue forecast, so the American people could see what is being proposed, and how the government intends to pay for the spending priorities the government wants to establish. This nonsense of spending being separated from the ability to pay for spending programs is what got us to this point.

It becomes more apparent each day that Barack Obama does not possess the intellectual capability or emotional maturity to develop a budget for an entire year. In the current leadership vacuum, it is needed that somebody lead this country. It is not coming from Obama.

And if there is a government shutdown, does that mean the Teleprompter Of The United States is turned off and Obama needs to remember what he wanted to say? If nothing else, that would mean shorter speeches.

MTP

Gregory brings up a poll that goes against the shutdown.

Cruz responds that it is the wording — ask them in plain English and they will poll against Obamacare, etc.

Gregory defends Reid by saying that the Senate has acted.

Cruz responds that Reid has not offered anything except full funding of Obamacare, refuses to even talk about this.

Cruz brings up the delays special interests have received, while the general pubic are still on the hook to start paying into Obama care.

Gregory goes through the litany that elections have determined the issues that got us here. [Sounds like he is on the same page as CJ Roberts — you elected them, live with what they pass.]

Gregory: You spoke for 21 hours and moved no one to your side. [snarky Gregory]

Cruz responds that most of the special interest delays for Obamacare are against the law.

==

[It is the same ole rhetoric. Gregory is spewing the Dem talkingpoints. Nothing new.]

Wallace just asked McCarthy who is running the Rep party. Meaning the Tea Party or Boehner. My question and answer is just who is running this country? Communists, socialists, multi millionaire democrats who have made their livings and acquired their wealth thru their US contacts and elected offices.

Snarky Dave: It is hard for Dems to get a word in edgewise (opposition to Cruz), because you are getting so much flack from members of your own party.

Side note:

I got my Medicare and You 2014 yesterday.

If I stay with the same Medicare Advantage plan I have now, my total premium (Medicare Part B premium + keeping same Medicare Advantage plan) will increase about 30% over the current.

It is clear to me that most Republicans have transmorgrifried (from Calvin & Hobbes) into the Arlen Spector wing of the Party. They are all doomed to the same fate....inglorious, insignificant and quickly forgotten.

Wallace was keeping Kaine and Lee on the topic of the cost of health insurance and doing a good job of contrasting what Obama has promised and the actual conflict with, imo, his deliberate misinformation to the American public.
The 2014 coverage for me and my husband has sizable increases in co-pays and deductibles. The contractor who graveled our driveway this week has been hit hard with the increases in his health insurance. Same story from everybody I talk to.
