Senator John McCain lashed out at fellow Republican Ted Cruz on Wednesday over a Nazi appeasement comparison he made during his all-night, anti-Obamacare marathon on the U.S. Senate floor.
McCain, a Vietnam veteran and former prisoner of war, said the comparison was inappropriate. He said he had taken Cruz aside privately to tell him, and got a response he did not like: Cruz told him his appeaser reference applied not to distinguished members of the Senate but only media "pundits."
"I resoundingly reject" Cruz's comments, said McCain, a senior Republican and former presidential candidate.
"I think it's wrong and I think it's a disservice to those who stood up and shouted at the top of their lungs that we cannot appease and that we must act," he said.

Liberals love “the maverick” again.
RE Collusion between Reid and McCain:
I see it as well, friend.
It’s a brand new day, after that epic 21 hour stand. McCain and every other wretched Dinosaur got OWNED by a Junior Senator who had the audacity to actually DO HIS JOB.
A Junior Senator had the courage to put them ALL on notice - the people are waking up.
Between Cruz shining a spotlight, and the Colorado Recall, this is just the beginning of the fight to remove these worthless wretches.
You could see the rage on that old piece of sh*ts face as he was attempting to lecture Senator Cruz.
I give Senator Cruz a lot of credit for his composure while listening to McCain; I would have told the old bastard to reach down, find his shriveled pair and remember that once, he USED to be a man, before he became the Democrats favorite jailhouse b*tch.
Cruz showed himself to be a true statesman; McCain showed himself to be a small, whiny, vindictive little punk bitch - and proved ALL of our criticism of him to be true.
Hayworth did pull a couple of bonehead moves. Over time I have seen him get it right countless times though.
McCain gets it wrong almost all the time. When he gets it right, it’s so inconsequential that it’s nearly meaningless.
I challenge folks to take a look at this and tell me McCain loves this nation and wants what’s best for it. Or if they think he does love this nation and still does all this, then he’s unfit mentally to hold his job.

“...Liberals love the maverick again....”
They can have him.
I’m hoping Arizona has the balls to primary his ass and remove him.
Did they actually show McCain speaking to Cruz?
I’ve seen many things in my life, esp in the past 10 years. Ronald Reagan was number one....Getting to know Sarah Palin is up there too. I’m talking about things that have lifted my soul....
But number one...has been watching and listening to Ted Cruz the other night and into the morning.
Benedict Arnold had a good war record for a while.
More like "McCain goes out to the back porch and throws a tantrum."
“...Did they actually show McCain speaking to Cruz?...”
yes, C-SPAN had the camera on the old fool. And Reid looked like he wanted to slap the upstart.
RE Soul Lifting: I hear you and completely concur. I had the same reaction to Reagan, Palin and this event as well.
the media pushed him whilst the establishment did all that could to give us him and then lets not forget how our nomination process is open in many states, or it lets Dems switch to R;s before an election and then we have the dopey non party types who can vote in some states too.
That is how we got the arrogant fool
of course the buttwipe MSM will say that.
truth be known a boy cannot take a MAN to the woodshed. so FUJM and your MSM handlers
“WE” didn’t nominate him. Democrats that switched for the primary did.
So it was staged? McCain got the media together and with REid they jumped Cruz. How did Cruz respond?
Indeed,John McCain’s long-term “legacy” will boil down to only ONE positive thing-—having introduced Sarah Palin to the American electorate, however self-serving it was in its designs. Not so ironically, his losing the election was blamed on Palin, when the reality was the Palin as his running mate accounted for him doing as well as he did—she brought him MILLIONS of votes.
Something someone posted to me on Twitter last week got me thinking. Yeah, I may be slow, but I have finally caught on.
McCain played everybody during the 2008 election.
He named Sarah Palin as his VP, knowing that the conservative base would not come out for him. I could never figure out why he asked her to be VP, then sent his people out to undermine her behind the scenes. I thought it was jealousy, but now it all makes sense.
Using Sarah, he raised a war chest which he did not spend. She was his cash cow.
Then he threw the election in the 4th quarter. (Last two minutes, if I recall.) He's been in collusion with the Dems all along and knew he was not going to be president.
He then used the war chest $$ to destroy J.D. Hayworth (TP candidate) in the senate primaries in AZ. Adding insult to injury, he called in his one last favor from Sarah to make the ad that was the coup de grâce for Hayworth.
He is now hell-bent on lining his pockets with everything he gets his hands on because he has no intention of running ever again.
Game. Set. Match. McCain. May he rot in hell.
I may be one of very few people who at this point don’t give a rats ass about his former service or POW status. He’s milked that for all it’s worth. While I pay the due amount of respect to veterans, I do not however think it gives them carte blanche to be aholes and traitors to their country. McCain’s actions as a Senator have been reprehensible and he’s an embarrassment.
F*ck McCain and I'll extend the same to you for defending someone like him who seeks to abolish my liberty now.
Benedict Arnold turned the tide aginst Britain at Lexington. He was badly crippled there and refused to have his leg cut off. His reward was being totally screwed financially (his expendeture records went down with his boat in Lake Champlain) by political enemies in Congress.
The West Point museum has a corner dedicated to Arnold's lexington exploits, and the Smithsonian has one of his salvaged Lake Champlain gunboats on display.
Saratoga, not Lexington.
This is an epic battle between the Tea Party and the ‘old guard RINOs’ for control of the Republican party. Cruz took the prize with his ‘filibuster’ talk-a-thon speech and the RINO’s are pissed!
