Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus backed Sen. Ted Cruz’s anti-Obamacare quasi-filibuster Tuesday, possibly sending a message to senior GOP leaders who are criticizing Cruz’s tactics in defunding Obamacare.
Cruz is speaking against Democratic Majority Leader Harry Reid’s plans to hold a vote on a stopgap continuing budget resolution Wednesday, where Reid is expected to strip out language from the House version of the budget resolution that defunds Obamacare. Cruz doesn’t want the vote to happen until Obamacare is definitively defunded — without Reid’s expected changes.
“In a fight between Harry Reid and Ted Cruz, I will stand with Ted Cruz any day,” Priebus wrote in an email Tuesday headlined “I stand with Ted.” ”Today, Senator Cruz has taken the fight to defund ObamaCare to the Senate floor. I hope you will join me in standing with him in solidarity.”
“As Republicans,” Priebus continued, “we must remain true to our principles and fight to protect the American people from this reckless law.”
Priebus’ endorsement of Cruz is especially notable, considering that Republican Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said that he does not support Cruz’s attempt to block a vote on the House bill, which Cruz is pushing for because of Reid’s expected changes to it. Republican Sens. John Cornyn and Lindsey Graham have also come out in opposition to Cruz’s effort to block a vote on the bill.

I don’t know what it is, but Reince and Repeat has been showing signs of actually having at least one testicle lately. I saw Greta interviewing him the other day, and he sounded more like a Freeper than a flack from Surrender Party HQ.
Could all be for show, except when did the GOP-e ever bother? Usually they just tell us how standing on principle won’t work in whatever the issue du jour is, and how they’re forced to cave yet again.

Firmly, but with no vulgarity, I ripped him to the person on the phone. Her words were polite, her tone of voice was NOT.
I told her to start looking for a new job, because even if he wins the primary, we aren’t voting for him. He will not be reelected. I told her that no matter how nasty the Democrat was, we were not voting for Mitch McConnell anymore.
It’s one thing when your enemies stab you in the back, but Mitch is supposed to be on our side? Et tu Mitch?
People on the right in the US need to start studying the East European dissident history. That will be us very soon. Assuming we even have the stones to do that.

Absolutely no choice here if he wants to see party members get another dime from their base, and anyone who isn't 100% on board may as well plan for retirement from politics, they are done.

I have told the various Repub Cmmtes. who called for my support to take my name off the call list as I could not support the GOPe, and I called to tell them I despise the actions of Priebus and would not be supporting them with him in charge.
