I apologize if I'm not posting this correctly, but I kindly request any prayers that you might offer for my Dad. About six weeks ago, my Dad went to the Cardiologist (after months of feeling increasingly sluggish). It turned that a previous lingering cold gave him a heart infection that (although gone at the time) reduced his heart function dramatically. ..to about 15%. They gave him a vest that acted as a defib and compression to strengthen the heart. He was feeling much better but last night he exhibited heart attack symptoms and was rushed via ambulance to the hospital. All of his tests came back normal, but right before he was going to transferred for observation he went into cardiac arrest and lost consciousness. He was shocked eight time before coming back to us. He awoke and didn't remember anything and they gave him sleeping meds and oitment for the burns...his temp was hypothermic and blood pressure way down. Right now, it just waiting and the docs really can't make any prognosis. I live away from all of my family and waiting just for an update is excruciating. Needless to say there has been no sleep tonight and I got the first flight out at noon.
Sorry for the long story, but you folks are a home away from home and it's just the wife and I here.
Thank You!
Thank you all so very much. My wife just went to the office to finish up some tasks before our departure. And, frankly, this is the time when I’m letting loose so to say.
My father is James, US Army vet and a 35 yr ret. steelworker and is 63. He had a previous heart attack 12 yrs ago. When he had a catheter before the vest they said that his heart made a natural bypass on one artery (the rest clean). I pray he has a miracle left.

“All of his tests came back normal, but right before he was going to transferred for observation he went into cardiac arrest”
I’m going to join in the prayers. The timing on this for me is really personal.
I just got back from the ER myself!
My blood pressure is all over the place, up to 175/110 pulse 114. It can jump 20 points just by sitting up or lying down. My pulse is also all over the place, from 68 all the way to 117. My left arm is hurting and the two small left-hand fingers are hurting. My chest feels fluttery. I called my aunt who is a nurse and told her my symptoms. She told me to go to the ER immediately.
I went to the hospital at 1am last night. They took my blood pressure. They saw my pulse racing. I told them that both my parents and all of my grandparents had heart problems. They hooked up a bunch of wires on my chest.
They said they didn’t see any wrong and sent me home.
(They said it must be stress.)
So I’m sitting here with my heart going monkey-crazy, my left arm feeling tired, my pinkie finger and the next one painful (hard to type this), and wondering what to do.
And I get on FR, see this request for prayer, click on it, and here is a man whose tests came back normal then he had a heart attack. D’oh!
So I am going to pray for your Dad, that they will find out what is going on!
Prayers up!
In late but prayers up now for all of you and especially your dad. Let us know, please.
Prayers.
Prayers out for your Papa.
Wishing him and you all the best...
PastorBrooks! Please reply back and let us know how you are! That is scary and we can’t help you from here. Is someone there with you??
Prayers have been sent. I’m glad you are getting out there to be with him. How frustrating that must be to not be there! Like Mesta said, keep us updated.
