A multi-ethnic America can survive and prosper. But a multi-cultural America will not.
There is a difference between being multi-ethnic and multi-cultural. It all comes back to values.
If the America of 2042 is an America in which multiple ethnicities of people with strong families and strong values, then skin color or ethnic backround won’t matter.
If the America of 2042 is an America in which most of America has gone ghetto, because of the encroachment of ethnicities which have bad values and bad behaviors and social pathologies, then America as we know it today will not exist then.
Will there be red states and blue states then? The red states being enclaves in which the America we yearn for has survived? Will blue states be the ones which have gone ghetto? We’ll see in future years how this all plays out.

Exactly. Most people labeled ‘racist’, are actually ‘culturalists’. They have no problem with the color, just the culture. No problem with a difference in appearance, but rather a difference in behavior. That is the true root of the problem.
Prior to this sucker punch, the Blacks only had to fight lynching, murder, mayhem and economic and societal discrimination.
The Great Society was much more insideous! The Great Society targeted the Black Nuclear Family. It destroyed it, resulting in massive illegitimacy along with associated destruction of morals, and the rampant drug use and violence.
The problem now is a Black and Hispanic parallel cultures who hate each other, compete with each other for the government handouts, and continue the culture of immorality. The Democrats who created this situation plan on using it to line their pockets and continue to consolidate total power...until society collapses.
Sadly, you are right. We live in a politically correct world now, and saying anything about ghetto culture is considered racist. So, we may well continue to see ghetto culture transform America.
FTA: And it won’t be done with government programs or government checks. It can only be done by individuals and groups resolutely choosing a new path, a better path. There is not an external solution that can be imposed or provided by a paternalistic government. There is only the power of human will and self-reliance.
I see no indication, inkling, or hint of a trend toward this path. We would do our progeny a favor to speak to them about this in frank and honest terms.

I - for one - don’t share the same opinion as Lonsberry. He’s projecting too far away. We won’t have to wait till 2042 when whites are in the minority. Already our typical American (white) culture is the subordinate view.
2042 is already here. Our white values that made this country great militarily, economically, educationally, and in every other way have been destroyed. We kid ourselves as we wallow around in the ashes that are left - saying to ourselves the party really isn’t over.
But it’s over. Now
So by 2042, I seriously doubt there will be a United States of America. I have two possible answers as to what we will become;
A colony of China called the United States.

Amen to your post. Also , prior to the Great Society taking hold, Blacks were interested in obtaining an education as were most Whites. Only the White trash segment distained going to school. Blacks may have had their share of those, I don’t know. all I know is that every Black I came in contact with back then, wanted to go as far as they were able in school. But, back then my circle of travel was very small.

There is no 'will' there in the collective groups mentioned that will rule, other than "to rule". They won't develop the will to move this country forward because they are constantly looking backward - at victimhood. Consequently, what they are looking for is not the idea of freedom that founded this country, but a reversal of positions of authority WITHOUT THE RESPONSIBILITY. In the end, they will take and take and take and redistribute until there is nothing left to redistribute all the while reveling in their new roles as 'master' oblivious to their and their childrens' futures in a country stripped bare of any substantive progress. A very very bleak future ahead.

Sometimes I wonder if America could break up, not unlike the breakup of the old Soviet Union.
We could see a liberal America in the northeast, a more conservative America in the south, a liberal country on the west coast, etc.
It’s possible that the America we all know and love will survive in enclaves in small towns, or just certain regions of the country.
