NATIONAL REVIEW ONLINE

September 19, 2013 4:00 AM Losing Men

That’s where the war is.

In 2010, more than 38,000 people killed themselves in the United States – and over 30,000 of them were men, Helen Smith, a forensic psychologist, points out in her book Men on Strike.

“How many of these men had decided to kill themselves because they could no longer see their children, had a broken relationship, or were involved in a bitter divorce?” she asks. “Ironically, even when you look at the suicide statistics, most concern seems to be about women who kill themselves. Apparently, our society cares so little about men that those who kill themselves are hardly news.”

It’s the problem of a culture that often treats men as if there is something inherently wrong with masculinity, with what makes them different from women — and looks to feminize them. Men who are less interested in marriage and responsibility are only being rational in that context, Smith argues. In the wake of the Navy Yard shootings on Monday, Smith talks about violent video games, and men in America, with National Review Online’s Kathryn Jean Lopez.

Female suicide attempts outnumber male by 2:1. Despite this, men are successful 4x as often.

Who is going to start a crusade against crazy women?

Well if you put that as a "crusade" against craziness of women rather than against crazy women... I'd say sane women are in the best position to do that.

You don’t suppose a large chunk of those 30,000 were men who had lost their jobs in the Obama Recession but could not get child support verdicts reduced? Man faces a near term of large debts and, if he does work, it is garnished from him so he can’t start over?

I suspect more died from this than from “broken relationships” or being “denied the right to see their kids”.

It’s a perversion of the man thing. The man thing as God designed it was to be particularly bold and daring. Women would show more of a sustained, patient effort. (Perversion of this might show as women who eat or smoke themselves to death, and that’s not usually classed on death records as suicide.) The two natures would complement one another and both arise from roots in a Lord who was so great that He needed two sexes to express His fullness. This is also why Jesus so often seemed to have an almost feminine compassion... this was God afoot on the earth, but when push came to shove God still chose the “He” to be His corresponding gender.

I am a man and as a man I would like to rule and dominate the world.

I have since learned that this is not going to happen, and furthermore in the big picture I am a peon.

But seriously, I think men naturally like dominating and this is not going to happen. Men need to learn to be men and at the same time restrain themselves from doing “domineering stuff” which really ticks people off these days.

America’s WAR ON BOYS began decades ago down in the government indoctrination centers (erroneously called “schools”) and will ultimately cost us what we have come to call America and western civilization.

I wouldn’t trust either of them to render an objective report about such things. I say malicious gossip here.

“Men are considered rude beasts only interested in their own needs. “

Certain amount of truth to that.

Men can grasp God’s conquering plan and do it right. This does NOT mean to go wild being macho. That’s SELF centered. God is a real entity with real purposes. Not some blenderized principle that leaves humans as the boss.

Not a bad book (tried to read it), but a women telling men who they are, and what they should be and do, simply doesn’t cut it.

The Way of Men, by Jack Donovan, is what every man should read.

In any given society, women have only as much power as men let them have. The Communist, Globalist objective to crush us as a viable power was greatly accelerated when they got us to acquiesce to the Women’s “Liberation” (Communist lingo) Movement.

Do I think we should never have given women the vote? Am I the sort of Neanderthal who thinks they need to get back into the kitchen where they belong, and properly raise the children? You betcha.

One could argue about voting, I suppose until one is blue in the face. Other systems of voting are possible like one vote per household, or a vote that represents the number of people in the household.

The biblical advice to women isn’t to be man-intimidated cowards. It is to fear not and do what is right. In the marital consummation act the biblical advice is amazingly complementary... now the man is no longer the boss, it is equality before God. Christianity allows for voluntary virtuous singlehood on part of men, so by mere complementarity, it will be allowed on part of women; women are born at roughly the same rate as men and they live longer. I don’t want to disenfranchise the spinster or widow. I would want a social order in which the spinster or widow realizes she isn’t an island and would be foolish to act in that manner.

What do men expect?

Cry me a river. My husband is a gentleman. he takes care of his family in everyway expected. i know some other men like this. their wives are taken care of so the wives can take care of their family.

Since 1973, until i met my future husband, I never had a steady boyfriend nor hardly a date where the guy didnt expect me to act like I was married for just 20 minutes

Incentive to grow up? No. There’s no societal incentive to get married, to stay married, to raise kids, to take a stitch of responsibility for the expectation that women be on birth control and/or be prepared to undergo abortion at any time with no support system in place and no boyfriend who is done.

But because they’ve chosen to have meaningless sex they find themselves lonely. Perpetual adolescence is just great until they find out what their women counterparts are finding out and what their grandparents told them, meaningless relations lead to meaninglessness

Their children resent them always for their not taking marriage as sacred and not loving the kids’ mothers, they end up with a meaningless relationship with their kids.

Choice -bad choice- happens to men too

Men almost always kill themselves more often than women. One of the few exceptions is mainland China.

If ya think its bad here, visit Russia, and the former republics.

Many people decide to take the easy way out, and will look for any excuse.

Also don’t forget the multi tasking wife... Proverbs 31. Not quite the reduced stereotype of barefoot/ignorant/pregnant although certainly she bears kids and sees that they are provided for well, while honoring her husband. (She knows that she and the family and the hubby are a team. No class warfare here.)

Once in awhile there is a heart warming story about a young man who epitomizes what good in the daily lives of people a man can do. Stories like this give me some hope that there are still some in the younger generation of men that know right from wrong and how to behave as a real man should.

A Minnesota Dairy Queen has been swarmed with dozens of phone calls, hundreds of comments and an influx of business after a story about their 19-year-old manager’s courageous defense of a blind man went viral on Reddit.

Joey Prusak, who has been working at the popular fast-food restaurant for nearly five years, told TheBlaze Wednesday he was “shocked” and “sickened” by what he saw happen to a blind man at the hands of an elderly lady.
This Story of a 19 Year Old Dairy Queen Employee Standing Up For a Blind Man Will Touch Your Heart

Prusak said that last Tuesday, one of his frequent guests, a man who is blind, walked into the local Dairy Queen. When the blind man took out his wallet to pay, a $20 bill slipped out of his pocket. An elderly woman behind the blind man then quickly snatched the bill off the floor and put it into her purse.

Prusak took matters into his own hands....
