I'm sorry, I must have missed it. When did we give the President the power to "waive" the law?

It's not in the constitution, I checked.

In fact, doesn't he state an oath to FAITHFULLY EXECUTE the law? Have we stepped into bizarro world where no-one even objects?

Obama is NOT an American.

He never saluted the US flag.

He never respected the Constitution.

Hs has, however, with the help of the US Congress,
armed al Qaeda and given them control of MANPADS,
SAMs and sarin.

The problem is, the law itself gives the President the power to waive certain of its prohibitions. And, unfortunately, that's not an uncommon provision - over time, Congress has abdicated its responsibilities in many areas by delegating its job to the President (or, worse, to unelected Cabinet members or other Executive branch officials).

We apparently did through Congress. From the article:

The Arms Export Control Act (AECA) allows the US president to waive provisions in Sections 40 and 40A, which forbid providing munitions, credit and licenses to countries supporting acts of terrorism. But those prohibitions can be waived “if the President determines that the transaction is essential to the national security interests of the United States.”

I'm more p*ssed about a Congress which would do this.

ez :" When did we give the President the power to "waive" the law? "

I beleive that just this one action , alone ,
constitutes a violation of "Oath of office".
It is one thing to selectively enforce a law ,
but it is another thing to arm,aid , and abett a known legally documented enemy .
This constitutes a treasonous act !
