The Indiana University is laying off 50 workers and sending them to a temp agency because of Obamacare.
Indiana University, which currently spends $215 million a year on health care, will shift 50 maintenance and custodial employees to an outside contractor that will hire them and will manage their hours. According to Indianas WRTV, the university is doing so to avoid paying for health insurance for the workers Obamacare will require that all hourly employees who work 30 or more hours a week be provided with affordable health insurance.
Graduate students at IU have also fallen victim to Obamacare, as the university will be limiting the number of hours they can work to keep them under the 30-hour threshold as well.

Wondering how many of the grad students voted hope and change.
IU is a VERY liberal university. They are a bastion of liberal ideology and leftists brainwashing. That said, they are also the epitome of low info voters. It is a Liberal Arts University (for the most part). They also have business and medicine.
I have to admit. I have a certain degree of Schadenfreude seeing this happen to a presumably liberal university.
I am sorry though its happening to lowly maintenance personnel. Do you think the liberal educrats in their ivory towers are seeing the connection here?
Plenty, I’m sure. Best of luck to them too, as they experience hope and change on a personal level!!
...a STEAMING, smelly pile of flammable cow-pie pancakes heaped waist high.....
Whoops. Quote is from another thread that was previously in the copy que. Sorry. lol
I wonder when the dems will finally capitulate into recognizing the Frankenstein they have created in ObamaCare, and finally repeal the entire darn thing.
215 mil/yr on healthcare? Every year? Seems excessive to me.
Either there’s some kind of fraud going on or IU is hiring a lot of high-risk people with high-risk behavior.
And to think I heard Gov. Beshear of KY praising Obamacarea and bragging about how the ‘Insurance Exchange’ was going to help insure millions of Kentuckians.
He just makes me so damn Mad sometimes...
IU is rife with leftists, so I’m sure this will be spun so as to demonize the policies of Bush, Mitch Daniels, Mike Pence, et al.

Insurance fraud is on the rise as the implementation of the Affordable Care Act approaches.
The Indiana Department of Insurance is warning Hoosiers about a spike in health insurance scams ahead of the Affordable Care Acts implementation.
The Indiana Department of Insurance says its seeing a significant increase in reported insurance scams. The Federal Insurance Marketplace created by the Affordable Care Act becomes available for consumers to access October 1st. And department spokesman Dennis Rosebrough says scammers are taking advantage of confusion surrounding the federal healthcare law to obtain Social Security, credit card and bank account numbers. Rosebrough says one of the signs a scammers phone call isnt legitimate is the phone call itself representatives of the federal marketplace wont be calling people to sell insurance.

Yelp! Just posted the article on FB page so friends and family are enlightened to consequences ;-)
No point on repealing something you are exempt from.
Except for a handful ALL are a cesspool of liberal indoctrination.
0bamaTrump:
“If you like your insurance...”
“...You’re Fired!”
“50 maintenance and custodial employees to an outside contractor”
Couldn’t have happened to a nastier bunch of union thugs! You wanted it morons, now suck on it!
I say that not knowing this specific University union system, but I have been in a position to manage university union members at another institution of higher learning. They were some of the most unthinking marxists I have ever come across.
At that time, they were debating NAFTA and the employees were regurgitating their union propaganda that their “jobs would be outsourced to mexico.” Hey morons, the university can’t just up and move to Mexico, so you’ll still be needed to be here to dish out your slop in America.
