Colorado Democrat Senate Majority Leader John Morse concedes.
Colorado Democrats need a new senate leader. History was made tonight in Colorado as Democrat Senate Majority Leader John Morse was recalled for abridging Coloradanss Second Amendment civil liberties. The tally is currently 52%-48%. According to Kelly Maher of Revealing Politics, Morse supporters need to beat us two to one in remaining ballots. Impossible.
Its the first wave of legislative battles planned by citizens angry at state lawmakers who denied them a vote on their Second Amendment rights. As it stands now State Senator Angela Giron is narrowly ahead of her recall.
Morse conceded around 11:30 eastern time.
Ive said this repeatedly: Colorado is ground zero for our gun rights. It is the litmus test for the country.
Heres the bottom line, said Kurt Bardella, president and CEO of Endeavor Strategic Communications, which is consulting with the groups seeking to oust Morse and Giron. What happens in one week will have significant implications for the overall debate on gun-control. Lawmakers at every level of government see Colorado as a bellwether as to whether they can risk pursuing a more aggressive gun-control agenda.
Maybe Morse can get a job with Michael Bloombergs anti-gun group. Colorado seems to be shifting from blue to purple.
Will develop with Giron results.
*UPDATE 1: Girons lead has flipped to a trail. 57%-43%
Na Na Na Na, Hey, Hey, Hey, Good bye! “Steam.”
I really hope we can turn Colorado red again in the upcoming year, get Fagandino out of power in the House and pass Jessica’s Law.
Can someone help? I know one went down, but I can’t tell if the second one did. Getting mixed info from various sites.
Morse’s district is more Dem than other sections of Colorado Springs - artsy fartsy Manitou Springs and Old Colorado City plus the boom boom neighborhood near Fountain and Academy in particular.
Thanks, but we do have our warts. There's far too many libs here for any right thinking Texan's taste. They'd better hope like hell that we don't secede. They'll all be running for the border.
As of the latest, Morse (CO Springs region) was recalled, latest vote count has him losing by 343 votes.
Giron, in the Pueblo area, is behind by 4700 or so votes.
I am SO loving this, Rita....
Just DAMN!!!! Outstanding!!!
The other one is so far behind, she could never catch up
Any guess as to the weight of poop in Bloombergs panties? 20 lbs of stink is my guess!
Thanks.
But Giron’s seat is worse right? And she’s getting killed, I almost don’t believe it!
First, California Dems blithely believing that they can write (and pass) laws that genuinely restrict responsible gun ownership and use now must know that gun-owning voters are energized (and organized). One hopes that the nonsensical proposed laws in Cali will now go away. (We'll see.)
Second, Congressional RINOs just might feel voter support being re-distributed (ha ha) away by energized GOPers (and right-thinking Dems). I don't think that this is too much of a stretch. There is palpable momentum in the grass roots activism and recall votes; and, it is quite catchy.
THE issue for 2014 just might be Second Amendment preservation. All candidates need to be accountable for previous votes and statements..
“..but we do have our warts....”
Every state does, friend... but put them in their damn place, and teach their asses what “Live and Let Live” means, and maybe you’ll never HAVE to secede.
This has been an outstanding evening...

Still no ammo in the state though.
Gotta say it:
Dear Mr Morse and MISS Giron:
THIS is what DEMOCRACY looks like...
Hahaha!!!!
*UPDATE 3: Giron is RECALLED with over 60% in favor. Amazing what average, everyday Americans can do, in this case a plumber (Victor Head, Pueblo Freedom and Rights) from Pueblo.
Looks to me like 'giron' is toast. God is good.
