Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R) will honor former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton with this year’s Liberty Medal from the National Constitution Center. The award will be presented to Clinton on September 10th, the eve of the first anniversary of the terrorist attack on the United States mission in Benghazi that killed four Americans.

...

Upon the announcement of Clinton’s award in June, Gateway Pundit’s Jim Hoft wrote, “Really Jeb, no one else came to mind?"

The way the Bushes help the Clintons it’s apparent to me they don’t want back in. It’s all for show. I won’t fall for it again.

Double dittos to that.....

They play games with our emotions to stay in power.

Representative Steve Stockman of Texas (R) talked about inviting the rodeo clown down after the Obama clown incident in Missouri.

Now he says he’ll vote to attack Syria if Obama returns his Nobel Peace Prize.

Boehner increased the debt ceiling back in January and raised taxes, then the GOP members like Mr. Stockman made him their leader to continue to push more spending, amnesty, attacking Syria for Al-Quaeda and so on...

Everybody wants to fight stupid. No one wants to fight smart. In military terms, would you give up the high ground and throw down your rifle and choose knives in a swamp, just because a bunch of grunts voted to do that with their hoo-rahs?

Here's the thing: you are not allowed to fight smart om the legal arena.
As an example, consider New Mexico's State Constitution:

Art II, Sec. 6. [Right to bear arms.]
No law shall abridge the right of the citizen to keep and bear arms for security and defense, for lawful hunting and recreational use and for other lawful purposes, but nothing herein shall be held to permit the carrying of concealed weapons. No municipality or county shall regulate, in any way, an incident of the right to keep and bear arms.
It's fairly easy to understand and should mean that there are no [valid] laws which infringe on the citizen's right to bear arms for security and defense, except that there are things like postings of No weapons; violators will be prosecuted on state/county/municipal courthouses* and NMSA 30.7.3 —
NMSA 30-7-2.4. Unlawful carrying of a firearm on university premises; notice; penalty.
A. Unlawful carrying of a firearm on university premises consists of carrying a firearm on university premises except by:
    (1) a peace officer;
    (2) university security personnel;
    (3) a student, instructor or other university-authorized personnel who are engaged in army, navy, marine corps or air force reserve officer training corps programs or a state-authorized hunter safety training program;
    (4) a person conducting or participating in a university-approved program, class or other activity involving the carrying of a firearm; or
    (5) a person older than nineteen years of age on university premises in a private automobile or other private means of conveyance, for lawful protection of the person's or another's person or property.
B. A university shall conspicuously post notices on university premises that state that it is unlawful to carry a firearm on university premises.
C. As used in this section:
    (1) "university" means a baccalaureate degree-granting post-secondary educational institution, a community college, a branch community college, a technical-vocational institute and an area vocational school; and
    (2) "university premises" means:
        (a) the buildings and grounds of a university, including playing fields and parking areas of a university, in or on which university or university-related activities are conducted; or
        (b) any other public buildings or grounds, including playing fields and parking areas that are not university property, in or on which university-related and sanctioned activities are performed.
D. Whoever commits unlawful carrying of a firearm on university premises is guilty of a petty misdemeanor.

In investigating how to challenge such contra-constitutional statutes as the above I have discovered one disturbing fact: I cannot challenge the statute without violating it. If I were to intentionally violate the statute I would be implicitly acknowledging its authority and, when my case came up, would be forced to argue from the weak position of the accused. (IOW, to challenge the constitutionality of a statute you are forced to use the argument Nun-uh! I'm not bad because the law is bad!)

* You might have the knee-jerk reaction that someone that is on trial should not have a weapon; but the policy impacts citizens who have not been so much as accused of a crime and are forced, under penalty of law, to appear in court: jurors and prospective jurors.

Excellent post.

I would change one word.

From:

drop their weapons of discrimination and study,

To:

drop their weapons of discernment and study,

For better or worse too many people will see that one word -discrimination- and react as they were programed, emotionally, and not with any thought. Everything after that is glimpsed dimly through a red haze.

Your tao is sadly true. What do we do? We can stay home and not vote, cast votes for 3rd party candidates, or hold or noses - vote lesser of two evils, and hope for the best.

I know there are lots of folks here on FR who have it all figured out. I wish I did.

My personal opinion is that we are screwed. We can take the screwing now and it will hurt or we can take a bigger screwing in the future (most likely since our leaders punt everything). Does not change the fact that we are screwed. I don’t think there is any magic candidate with impeccable conservative credentials that can fix us because the majority of our nation does not want to be fixed.

Assuming our impeccable conservative champion (there is a unicorn) won election with a platform of fixing the fiscal mess - they would be a one term candidate. People would vote them out - the rats would promise we could have our cake and eat it too. The mid-terms would be a bloodbath for his/her party.

If you don’t believe that statement you have much more faith in the American populace than I do. What say you?

My thoughts exactly. Also- third party this time around and if the third party obviously costs the Republicans the election and we make it to 2020 with the conservatives and other freedom concerned people in that third party and still enthusiastic there will be then only two major political parties and the GOP will not be one of them.

Once upon a time you voted for the Republicans to slow down the advent of the Totalitarian State because the Republicans promised to do it to us a little less rapidly. They still promise that but W showed that it is not true any more. Without his actions the kenyan et al could not have leapt so far so fast at all.

Voting for Jeb to keep Mrs. Bill out is the tribal approach, The actual political result is the same with either but better that our guy sends us to the camps than that their guy send us to the camps.

The Democrats understand that ultimately it is only about Us vs Them and so do the Establishment Republicans. The question regarding the Establishment GOP is about which us they identify with.

Thanks for the education that there is no difference among them. You must be right, because actions do speak louder than words. Jeb Bush giving the empty suit, bravado-filled Hillary Clinton any award makes me not only sick, but very fearful that there is actual Republican Party help, passive and active, for the juggernaut that is destroying the U.S. and the lives of its people.

To #5. No, Hillary will not be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but she will be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. Why, you ask? Because she did two things of note:

*Put Bill’s balls in a lockbox for years to prevent him from striking out with the chicks, and

*She knocked them out of the political ballpark when she became Secy of State (and left him home on her “Rode Trips”).

Bill liked to play intern golf with his Putter while Hillary liked to Play Wack His Pole with her status.

The family that plays games together gets lots of awards and speaking engagements, separately, of course.

Oh, what a wonderful political family we have in the Clintons (including any in jail)!

Correct, action means nothing without a plan. However, your assumptions pertaining to me are horribly inaccurate. In fact, the statement was made to spur more conversation to the plan spectrum. I have taken law classes, my Mother in Law an Attorney, we know the importance of law. We also know the importance of the living local economy and how centralization has corrupted just about everything. I would suggest you focus on a symptom, I’m ready to attack a disease.
