If the command to go to war is unconstitutional then the military has the obligation and duty to refuse that order.

Congress: your approval of the appointments of stupid people into key positions like "National Security Advisor" and "Secretary of State" and "Ambassador to the UN" - has consequences.

Perhaps it is time for that to change. The only method of relieving the country of the incompetent is impeachment and that is not a possibility. Even if it were, there would still be the minions to have hissey fits.
A good old fashioned takeover coupled with a governing board of directors to sort it all out is looking very good.

I find it funny that after all the criticism of Bush and Iraq and the so called “rush to war”...
“After 9-11 we immediately attacked Iraq” Whats the rush?! Whats the rush?! Give sanctions time to work! “Rush to war!” “Rush to war!” “Rush to war!”
that Ed Asner’s excuse for why their are not more leftists protesting Obama is that:
“The lead up to the Iraq war took a lot longer”
Huh? What? I thought it was rushed?????

EVEN if we did go in to Syria, like we did in Iraq, we would end up fighting the very rebels we are supporting now. We would have no choice, as they would turn on us the minute they get what they wanted. I HOPE even the idiots in the Administration realize this, but I don’t know what to think about their reasoning skills.

The U.S. militarys civilian masters privately are proud that they are motivated by guilt over slaughters in Rwanda, Sudan and Kosovo and not by any systemic threat to our country. The most imminent threat to our country right now is coming from that narcissistic retard in the White House. IMO, the Pentagon should concentrate on countering that threat, and not allow itself to be led by the nose into a completely unnecessary and unconstitutional war. It'll require some creative thinking on the Pentagon's part, but options range from outright refusal to arresting the squatter occupying the people's house, etc.
To: Kaslin
None of the White House staff has any experience in war or understands it.
Totally agree, but there is one huge problem: Obama's two biggest cheerleaders in Congress. John McCain was a career officer in the Navy - over 20 years, including 6 as a POW in Vietnam, and Linda Graham has been in the Air Force and AF Reserves since 1981.
There is a lot more going on with the people beating the drum for war with Syria than simple ignorance of military operations. I don't know why so many from both sides are beating the drums. Some appear to be Neocons in disguise, some appear to be Muslim Brotherhood supporters, some seem to be in the pockets of the defense industry.
Whatever the overriding issue is, I don't know, other than it's disconcerting that so many people who should be opposed to one another are coming together over this.

you mean the military “leaders” who are making our military a joke by belittling Christians, promoting homosexuality to the hilt,etc?.....THOSE military “leaders” can just go jump in a lake....but wait and get your fat pensions first boys...

So far, at least, this path to war violates every principle of war, including the element of surprise, achieving mass and having a clearly defined and obtainable objective. Which is precisely what we've been saying on FR from the beginning of this ridiculous kabuki dance. At this point we'd be dropping bombs on empty targets just so show that nobody can tell 0bama "no". This is the politics of the playpen and the mission planning of little boys with stick guns. Anyone who voted for this bumbling moron deserves to be drafted.
