Updating our earlier report on Senior Master Sergeant Phillip Monk, a Christian serving in the Air Force whose unit is now commanded by a lesbian: according to Monk’s complaint filed with his superiors, he was relieved of duty for refusing his commander’s order to say he supports gay marriage.
Now the Air Force has taken the first steps to criminally investigate Monk for talking to the media about his situation. Despite the fact that earlier this year the Obama-Hagel Pentagon said they would never court-martial a service member for their Christian faith, they have taken the first steps to possibly court-martial Monk.
On Aug. 27, an Air Force investigator met with Monk and his attorney, Mike Berry from Liberty Institute. Berry expected it to be a routine meeting to take a statement from his client, but during the meeting the investigator said that he would read Monk his Miranda rights.
Monk was advised that he is being investigated for committing a crime by the U.S. military for making a false official statement, that he has the right to remain silent, and that he has the right to an attorney. The Air Force then assigned military defense counsel to him and is deciding whether to formally charge him with a crime, at which point Monk would either have to admit guilt and accept further punishment or face a court martial.
Monk is being investigated and might be formally charged for violating Article 107 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), which makes it a crime to make a false official statement. But Monk’s explaining his situation to the media is not an official statement.

Before the installation and then repeal of DOMA wasn’t it a violation of the UCMJ to be a practicing lesbian? Wouldn’t his commanding officer herself be guilty of having made a false official statement by denying her engagement in that activity? It would help to know how long that commanding officer was in the military.

I really hope they do. That way, our young men and women who love this country will be here to protect it even in a civilian capacity and the queers can go fight in Syria.

Futility. They’ve taken control, the fight is over. Look at it this way: It’s only been a year or so that homosexuals were allowed to openly serve in the Air Force, but this guy’s lesbian commander is a major. As I’m sure you know, you don’t make it to major in a year or even five years, so they’ve prepped these people way in advance of their final push. Your kid will be treated like this sergeant, or worse, should they ever give the service a reason.

It’s troubling when Christians in are armed services are prosecuted for speaking to the media about their faith.

The military is commanded and supported by civilians. We are the ones with the authority, not those in the military. I would prefer all straight people get out of military service so we can best determine what to do with the others.

What was the false statement?
I am not an orthodox Christian, I tend to go by intuition on a lot of things, but there is something very evil and very odd about the extent to which gays have assumed such power in society in such a short time. It is downright weird how they’ve gone from being the butt of jokes (no pun intended) to bullying everyone else, with the law at their back.
One thing I’ve noticed, is that when gays get a foothold in an organization, they soon take over. That is what happened in all those seminaries in the Catholic Church - the gays slipped in, and took over.
Get the straights out of the military. Then, a land war with China. Both sides agree to stay non-nuclear. China deals with their excess male population and we get rid of.....
