An overwhelming number of Florida legislators have rejected a call for a special session to repeal the state's "stand your ground" law.
The Department of State on Tuesday released a final tally. It showed 108 legislators voted against the special session while 47 voted for it. Four legislators didn't vote....
The vote was split largely along partisan lines. Seven Democrats joined with Republicans in voting no.

I love it. STFU Non Rev al
Resistance to the criminal fascist syndicate occupying Washington is building in state and local governments. This is where the real power lies. If you’re looking for some action to exercise against the Washington elites, this is where to find it.
Bravo to the FL legislators who refused to be intimidated by the fascist press and whiney Black “leaders.”
Yes, when states wake up to the fact that they keep the feral government alive with all the money their taxpayers send to D.C. and that the central government would wither on the vine without that outrageous cash transfer of producers to non-producers, perhaps we will see freedom get a second wind in America.
The TEA Party should continue its transformation of America by changing the guard in every state legislature that bows the knee to the central government while groveling for pennies from the shrinking federal purse. Such weak state governments are selling their citizens into slavery once again.
No problem for Al. Obama will just sign an Executive Edict invalidating Florida’s SYG law.
Got a nice response from my legiscritter after sending a letter asking her not to capitulate to outsiders. She wouldn’t and didn’t! Bravo!
Has Sharpton called for all Trayvon fans to leave Florida yet?? And stay away?
That could reduce crime.
If the Prez tried issuing an E.O. which sought to overturn a state law that had not been deemed unconstitutional, the political blowback would be enormous.
The blowback would begin with the Governor publically denouncing the EO, backed up by his majority in the state assembly, thus guaranteeing the reelection of all who did so.
Then it would spread outward to other states who would pass resolutions basically telling Obama to go bleep himself for his overreaching arrogance.
The WH won’t try anything that rash. They got their @sses handed to them when Obama’s gungrabbing bill went down in flames.
More subtle: Obamacare will turn family doctors into government snitches who note the attitudes of citizens who refuse to answer questions concerning guns.
The insurmountable problem Jesse and Al face in Fla is that the good citizens of the state want stand your ground.
Uh... state voter I.D. laws?
Well well, a surprising bit of good Florida news!
That is, until Odinga gets involved again...
OK, the DOJ did block a new voter ID law in South Carolina. That must have been a direct order from Obama.
Other than that, the only voter ID opponents with teeth are liberal Federal judges. Now THEY have veto power over the will of the voters & throw sand in the gears of any state level effort to eliminate corruption in the voting process.
Blocking the S.C. voter ID law (by what mechanism I don’t know) was politically easy since South Carolina is perceived as insufferably racist and needs an occasional smackdown. They started the Civil War, didn’t they?
Adios Al.
I'm sure EVERY one of the dynamic Florida Freepers would pointedly love to know.

No worry,
Obammy will soon sign the u.n. treaty then send in the blue helmets as well as tsa to take away your silly guns
