SCOTCH PLAINS, N.J. (CBSNewYork) A campaign visit to Scotch Plains led to a confrontation between Gov. Chris Christie and a local father over the use of medical marijuana for children.
The parents of little Vivian Wilson, whos 2 and a half, wrote a letter earlier this month to the governor, urging him to sign a measure that would make medical marijuana easily accessible to children like their own.
Please dont let my daughter die, Governor. Dont let my daughter die, Brian Wilson implored Gov. Christie on Wednesday.

So sad that people are stupid enough to not only think the government can “save them”, but worse, that they are “begging” for help.

Because kids shouldn’t smoke. Unless it’s pot.
To: SMGFan
no offense, pot does not prevent anyone from dying.
now there is evidence that hempseed oil can have great positive effects on the body, but smoking pot, no.

If you read the article you will see that they are trying to get it in the form of an oil or pill, not smoked.
>>>Brian Wilson needs to take little Vivian to see a REAL doctor.
Also, from the article, the prescription would require the sign off of 3 doctors.

They can actually give you extracts of the medically useful ingredients of marijuana, which are actually more effective than smoking it, but the pro-drug lobby doesn’t want to hear that because this really isn’t about “medical use” at all.

So what disease is it exactly that can only be cured by pot? Severe and otherwise untreatable epilepsy that creates numerous gran mal seizures every single day. A kid like that will die young from it, it's just a matter of time. And until they do, quality of life is very low.
Would giving them some low THC pot that doesn't make them high and could help the seizures really so controversial? I guess so but I don't know why. We're not talking about selling it to high school stoners here.

There are legit medical reasons to prescribe marijuana. There are legitimate medical reasons to prescribe tobacco, too... I just need to find a doctor willing to admit that I don't function well without a cuppa coffee and a Lucky Strike at dawn. Imagine writing off smokes as a medical expense! As it is, tell me why I can't deduct all the taxes I pay for a pack of cigarettes?

Tobacco is legal. Why would you need a prescription?
