President Obama took his case for ending the sequester to hundreds of disabled veterans Saturday, saying he protected their benefits from the “reckless” cuts to the federal budget but suggesting next year might be different.
“It’s hurting our military. I made it clear that your veteran’s benefits are exempt from this year’s sequester,” the president said to the applause of hundreds at the Disabled American Veterans' convention in Orlando, Fla. “But I want to tell you going forward the best way to protect the VA care you have earned is to get rid of this sequester altogether.”
The president but the blame squarely on Congress, which returns in about four weeks to work on a new federal budget and increasing the federal debt limit.
“We’ve got these reckless, across-the-board budget cuts called the sequester that are hitting a lot of folks hard,” Obama said. “Congress needs to come together and agree on a responsible plan that reduces our deficit and keeps our promises to our veterans and keeps our promises to future generations.”
The cuts went into effect in March after Congress and the White House failed to agree on a more balanced plan to cut government spending.
Some Republicans have meanwhile said the president shares in the responsibility, considering he signed the 2011 Budget Control Act that raised the debt ceiling and led to sequester.

The main point is to remember that President Obama is the one who suggested the sequester. Now, he’s acting like he had nothing to do with it. The GOP has offered many ways to get out of this dissastrous plan as long as the principle of spending cuts is maintained. This is a non-starter for President Obama, so Obama’s sequester cuts will remain in effect. That’s how it works, Mr. President.
President Obama (president for close to 5 years now) is once agan acting like he has no part in what happens in the federal government. He sets the tone, the discussion, and most of the time the laws. Still, he acts like he’s on the outside. He is the problem!!!!
Although it’s been said, many times, many ways, “FUBO,” to you!
The Sequester was his idea.
The Republicans have offered a budget, he turns it down, but it is someone else’s fault

Meanwhile this will be the longest Air Force One gets to sit on the ground in Months, while he eats ice cream and the people of Martha’s Vineyard suck his black butt.

Regarding Obama’s threat to yank benefits of disabled veterans as a consequence of sequester, please consider the following.
Although Obama is once again trying to take advantange of a crisis to push his socialistic agenda, there is NOTHING stopping Congress from doing the following for disabled vets. Congress can make an earmark-free bill that would provide funding for disabled veterans. And when Obama vetoes the bill, if Congress is really serious about supporting disabled veterans, then Congress has the following option. The Constitution’s Clause 2 of Section 7 of Article I gives Congress the power to override Obama’s veto if 2/3 of both Houses of Congress vote to pass the vetoed disabled veterans support bill.
Anyone who thinks this racist SOB cares about veterans is stone-cold stoopid.
O and the libs in both houses of congress wanted sequester.
He and the GOP are pretending to be against it and they will all say its the other guy but none their constituents will actually be hurt its all BS..
The Defense contractors, those in the procurement chain, will not feel an effect but the folks that actually served will take it in the ass yet again..
While he spends millions on 5 star vacations for family/friends.

I told Christ I love Him just again at services this evening. I confesses sins to Him and asked for His strength and courage. I have prayed before that God would smack back at the evil in our land, but He has not yet done so. The Bible does tell us that it only appears that evil prospers. Very soon evil people will know that they have withered like dead grass and will be cast into the fire. Christ tells me to love my enemies, which I struggle to do, but I still pray for them and our nation. But I still want to see God take action, because it is nothing but blow after blow to our nation these days.

Well, the way to fill spiritual holes is generally not to make them emptier.
Any genuine smack back will look counterintuitive to us, with our worldly minds. It will look a lot, in fact, like liberals who have suddenly found God.
