A Conservative Blackout of Facebook

It seems some liberals are having a collective meltdown over an online conservative protest called "Facebook Blackout."

Facebook has established a pattern of silencing Conservative posters and pages so, on August 24 and 25th, we are going to grant them their wish. Silence from out side.

Any advertising dollars that they lose will be their lesson.

They spend most of their waking day with FB plugged into their spinal column controlling their every move, “I’m going to make #2 now, tell you when I get back.”

That sounds more like Twitter.

Why any self respecting conservative would use Facebook in an era of big brother spying and propagandizing (ie TEA party = home grown terrorism) is beyond me.

People...if you haven’t figured it out yet...DO NOT SUPPLY THE COMMIES WITH FREE INTEL!

<><><

Don’t like facebook, don’t use it.

I don’t give a flying rat’s a$$ if the fed sees pix of my grandkids, nor do I care if they know I have liked the pages of Ry Cooder, Richard Thompson and Lucinda Williams, or that I’ve subscribed to Acoustic Guitar Videos. OMG, I just thought that maybe the fed now knows where my band is playing on the weekend. Maybe they’ll come to the show.

I hide posts of those engaging in either religious or political commentary.

I closed my Facebook account last week.

That's what you think.

Who uses Facebook, twitter, or social media ?

<><><

In the neighborhood of a billion people use facebook.
Twitter is apparently in the top ten most visited web sites.

Does that help?

...don’t give up and walk away from the one of the largest social media voices on the planet. People need to see there is an alternative to the Liberal agenda, they need to see it daily, hourly and minute by minute the way they are fed Liberal filth now.

Your advice has been deemed overly logical, and has been rejected by the Freeper Board of Political Correctness.

Conservatives need to use social networking such as Twitter and Facebook. Not using these outlets is very GOPe. Otherwise, how would we jpknow about this: http://twitchy.com/2013/08/07/wife-of-ft-hood-victim-says-defense-department-issued-gag-order-to-victims-families/

I do not understand all this deleting conservative threads. In all my hundreds of friends, that has happened 1 time since 08. All my news is from conservative sites and people and I have seen some ultra conservative news. I forget what news it was but the site was posting again within a few hours. What were you posting that got deleted? Am very curious.

The reason Conservatives are now running weak election campaigns is because they do not use Facebook and other social media tools as well as Liberals do....

Get modern, get active..., these outlets are how the message is spread.

If you don’t use it then what’s your point? I don’t understand your point other then not caring if the feds see pics of your grand kids....

It isn’t the current crop of feds you need to fear....it’s the crop behind them.

I got on FB the same way...only go there every few months to see any new family photos posted.

As to FB examples of “kill Zimmerman” they have been posted here on FR many times, twitter too, that’s how I know anything about FB, I learn about it right here on FR, my most trusted information source.

I’m on Facebook and there are lots of conservative things that get posted by my friends, some I wouldn’t dream of posting because they could be considered as extremist. If FB was censoring conservative views and posts, I know some of these would have been cut.

If Conservatives don't use social media to get out the message then what's left, smoke signals? Fox News?

We ask our representatives to work smarter no harder but it seems that some Conservatives are ok with trying to beat the dead horse of print media.

Conservative organizations have to get savvy on social media and do it quick or the Conservative message with be swamped by the overwhelming amount of liberal distortion and lies that abound on so many social media sites.

If a liberal stooge can figure out how to use social media, then the average Conservative or Republican should be able to as well.

I think the censoring is more how FB treats major conservative groups, like Breitbart. It’s harder for these sites to push their messages thru the system, even for people who are signed up for it, compared to a liberal group.

I’ve seen some things from Breitbart and Michelle Malkin. I know that the libs don’t like Michelle, but she posts every day and sometimes several times a day.

A gal once said to me “if you’re not on Facebook, you don’t exist.”

I thought...”okay!”

I think if everyone continuously posted pictures of George Bush over those two days it would be a better statement. Overwhelm the post function and chew up the bandwidth,

You missed the point, I do use it.

* pics of grandkids
* information about artists I have an interest in
* promoting my band (one channel)

topics that may be controversial, I dont touch.

I’m subscribed to the Breitbart feeds. I’ve seen multiple posts from the group stating how the group isn’t getting everything out like they used to since the FB crack-down - but embarrassingly, I haven’t read those very thoroughly whatsoever so I have no details. I jsut have the idea that it isn’t an-all out blitz, eliminating all conservative groups and posts - just some hassling and unequal application of rules making it tougher to get the word out.

Leave Facebook to the Progressives.
It’s where everybody under 30 lives.
We want to make sure their indoctrination is untarnished with any rational thoughts.
