A White House spokesman called July’s 7.4 percent unemployment rate proof that “the U.S. economy is continuing to recover from the worst downturn since the Great Depression.” He said it with a straight face.
The data tell another story: America remains mired in the Great Obama Depression.
The unemployment rate that the administration trumpets is a liar’s number. The formula for the unemployment figure that is released every month is rigged to look favorable to the administration in power.
The true numbers from the Bureau of Labor Statistics show a far different picture. They show an America that is in economic collapse.
The unemployment rate did not drop because there were more jobs in July. It fell because there were fewer people looking for jobs. The civilian labor force fell by approximately 37,000 workers. The people who are not in the labor force has climbed to 89,957,000; almost ninety million American adults are not in the workforce. Even worse, the number of discouraged workers rose to almost one million. “Discouraged worker” is the term for people who want to be in the workforce but have given up on looking for jobs because they believe no jobs are available.
There is one other devastating figure that most people are not talking about. In June, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that only 47 percent of American adults had full-time jobs.
Fewer than half of Americans are working full time!
That should be a headline. Instead it is ignored.

Exactly. If you are out of work beyond a certain point, you are no longer counted as unemployed. That's how they get supposed improvements in the unemployment rate as fewer and fewer people have jobs.
Listening to the clowns in the press discussing fractional rises and falls in the unemployment rate makes my hair hurt. They are phony numbers and you can't find anyone to say so in plain English.
$4.84 for 1 lb of 80/20 hamburger yesterday. $3.54/gallon of gas today, gallon of milk more than gas. Bread (store brand) $2.50 & up....can of store brand soup $1.06, and on and on and on and on.
Yet, economy, jobs, market all GREAT! Unemployment GREAT! HealthCare GREAT! (because anybody with any pull at all is exempt). IRS doesn’t target white Christian conservatives, NSA doesn’t spy. FBI doesn’t entrap old white coots talking out their butts, and on and on and on and on.
We have no terrorist enemies - we led the Arab springs for Eqypt, Libya, Syria (but Iran? nope, those kids might have won. It’s all man-caused disaster now. Benghazi had the same notice as today’s Embassy closings - why was it abandoned? Why isn’t the administration pointing out the poor son-of-a-bitch film maker who’s made the latest Anti-Islam film? That US Army Major in Texas just had a work-place disturbance and we have to pay for him and his helicopter rides, etc.....
It’s all one big steaming pack of horsesh!t effing lies by a foreigner Muslim President who stole the job but now won’t do it.
Obama hasn’t helped but he is not responsible for about everything you buy being made with jobs done somewhere else.

A decent president would have policies that helped, rather than pushing the old policies which have caused so many problems.

Seriously, you are right on. Obama is here to make us into an impoverished socialist country with one of the weakest military forces on the planet, so we can be attacked and subdued finally. That is the " fundamental transformation" he has in mind, done with the assistance of the so-called MSM "journalists" and Progressive politicians on the Obama-Soros payroll.
Is it true that if a person has two part time jobs that the statistics count both of the jobs as though 2 people are working rather than 1?
