The 2012 killing of Florida teenager Trayvon Martin has led to various rallies, boycotts, and even songs. Now, the NAACP is leading the way in an effort to force legal changes across the United States in an attempt to prevent another similar situation.
The NAACP created "Trayvon's Law," a series of legislative policies that aims to "end racial profiling, repeal stand your ground laws, form effective civil complaint review boards to provide oversight of police misconduct, improve training for community watch groups, mandate law enforcement to collect data on homicide cases involving non-whites, and address the “school to prison pipeline, NAACP President and CEO Benjamin Jealous explained in a statement according to AllHipHop. "What happened to Trayvon Martin must never happen again," Jealous said according to Jet Mag. "Trayvon's Law will serve as the foundation for community advocates as they work to end laws and practices that contributed to his death and to create new policies that will prevent further tragedies."
The NAACP will push "Trayvon's Law" at the local, state, and federal levels. The organization's Florida State Conference will be working to immediately enact the law in Florida, AllHipHop reports. The organization is also urging states across the US to adopt the law.
The quicker someone blows apart the NAACP during one of their annual meetings, the better.

I want to know why “Stand Your Ground” laws are seen as anti-black?
Is the NAACP saying that black people are likely to confront white people and threaten to harm them? Are they saying black people are criminals, and so will be the targets of whites who will try to stop them?
It seems racist to suggest that black people are more likely to do things that would provoke a legitimate use of force against them.
And of course, we know that in Florida, blacks are the beneficiaries of SYG at a much higher rate than their percentage of population.

Well.....Pavlik was the `New Soviet Man’ who denounced his father (`bourgeois saboteur & wrecker’) to the NKVD who arrested & executed the latter. Pavlik was then (supposedly) killed by his grandfather (`the old tsarist order’) in revenge.
Ten years ago I was deployed to Uzbekistan where I met young Uzbek women who spoke perfect English, regarded Pavlik Morozov as a hero, and lamented the fall of the USSR.
Trayvon might be more of a usable martyr as Horst Wessel rather than Pavlik. Nazis beat up lots of their opponents in the name of Horst Wessel & sang their party anthem to his memory.
If St Skittles’ life had run it’s natural course he would have been dead in 5 years anyway, the victim of black-black violence.

“It was that M-DSPD internal affairs investigation which revealed in October 2011 Trayvon Martin was searched by School Resource Officer, Darryl Dunn. The search of Trayvon Martin’s backpack turned up at least 12 pcs of ladies jewelry, and a man’s watch, in addition to a flat head screwdriver described as “a burglary tool”.
When Trayvon was questioned about who owned the jewelry and where it came from, he claimed he was just holding it for a “friend”. A “friend” he would not name.
On October 21st 2011 a burglary took place a few blocks from Krop Senior High School where Trayvon Martin attended. The stolen property outlined in the Miami-Dade Police Report (PD111021-422483) matches the descriptive presented by SRO Dunn in his School Police report 2011-11477.”
