Obama: Traditional journalism is dead By Jonathan Easley - 07/31/13 02:50 PM ET
President Obama weighed in on the state of journalism in an Amazon Kindle interview published Wednesday, noting the difficulties journalists face in the new media atmosphere and declaring that the old times arent coming back.
It used to be there were local newspapers everywhere, Obama said. If you wanted to be a journalist, you could really make a good living working for your hometown paper. Now, you have a few newspapers that make a profit because they are national brands, and journalists are having to scramble to piece together a living, in some cases as freelancers and without the same benefits that they had in a regular job for a paper.
The president likened the new media terrain to that of other industries that have experienced disruptive changes in recent years.
Whats true in journalism is true in manufacturing and is true in retail, he said. What we have to recognize is that those old times arent coming back.
Lucky for him.
The Obama ocomedy er economy is the new normal.
In 0bama-speak, it’s time for a bailout. Or you could call it “nationalized media.” Or a payoff. Or marrying the mother of your love child (let’s just make the relationship official).
Any number of things come to mind.
It’s far, far easier to scrap the politicians causing the economic problems. Oh yeah; that includes you, too, BHO2.
*Yes, it's intentional.
LOL - you're right on both counts... one step up from a hobby and Obama's wrong so often it's like he's doing it on purpose.
The problem is that so called journalists are now "paid" political experts aka stooges who have opinions up the kazoo, will lie when called upon to do so, will skew statistics and will fall to their knees when Obama enters the room.
It's not about journalism...it's about honesty in the press.
Journalism has been dead for years.
Headline should be written:
Obama: Journalists should kill themselves
If only it were.
” Obama’s wrong so often it’s like he’s doing it on purpose. “
Yep, except it is clear that he is indeed that much of a F’up. 57 states....Navy CORPSEMAN....LOL.
