Teenagers Arin Andrews and Katie Hill look like any normal young couple posing in their swimwear.
It is hard to believe that just two years ago Arin was a girl called Emerald, and Katie was a boy called Luke.
Arin, 17, and Katie, 19, from Tulsa, Oklahoma, have both undergone surgeries to change their gender and now are enjoying being in their bodies they always wished for.
Just over a year ago Katie, a university student, had gender reassignment surgery, thanks to an amazing $35,000 donation from an anonymous donor who read her story in a local newspaper.
Now, Arin, who is still at school, has undergone an operation to remove both of his breasts, and is proudly showing off his new male physique.
For the last year, Arin has been binding up his chest to try to hide his female body, but can now go topless for the first time after his surgery in Cleveland, Ohio, in June.
He said: 'Now I can wear a tank top, which I couldn't before, I can go swimming shirtless, I can walk outside, I can just be a regular guy now.
'I hated my breasts, I always felt like they didn't belong - now I can finally be comfortable in my own body.'
He added: 'Now when I'm out in a public pool, or lifting weights, no-one raises an eyebrow, they just think I'm a guy - just a skinny dude in the gym trying to build some muscle.
'My family have really surprised me with how supportive they have been throughout the surgery. I'm so lucky to have them and Katie to rely on.'
Katie and Arin met nearly two years ago at a support group for transgender teenagers and bonded through their shared experiences.

He was stating what THEY think, not what is.
Excellent assessment.
Without taking the hormones of the opposite sex, their appearances will change quickly.
This is such an abomination I can’t even find the right words.
John Hopkins Hospital used to be a big center of “gender reassignment” surgery. They stopped a few years ago because after years of mutilating mentally ill people they finally had to admit that the whole “transgender” stuff is a mental illness and that people who had such surgery were MORE miserable after than before.
Geron and I hardly agree on anything, but I read it the same way he did.
I came out of the closet several years ago and told all my friends and family that I am a lesbian trapped in a man's body. D@mn few of them gave me any sympathy. (I don't need a /sarc tag do I?)
I got it
This whole article reeks of promoting cowardice. The transgenders in question don’t like who they are. So instead of buckling down and dealing with life, they mutilate themselves, thinking it will solve anything.
Ignore reality, indulge in fantasy.
This madness will reap horrific dividends a few decades from now.
I do it far too often - make a reply and it all got straightened out/explained/anwereed/corrected or whatever already down the thread.
I hope I learn one of these days.
Currently, when legal working Americans are in line behind the illegals and the gimmedats - odds are the freaks will be first in line for treatment. But I definitely see your point and since this house of cards is going to fall at some point, it wont be pretty.
Oh, I don’t think we’ll have to wait that long.
The media coverage of such cases is very sentimental, and also false. There is no mention of trans-sexual regret, nor of the inadvisability of performing surgery of this type on minors.
These young people are escaping into a fantasy, and I’ll warrant that if you looked closely at their lives, you would find reasons for their unhappiness, and possibly mental health issues. If they get on the transgender bandwagon, they are given attention and approval - something we all need when growing up. Unfortunately, the price is very high - self-mutilation.
Don’t hold back. Say how you feel. : )
Yeah, I hope the mods delete your post. That is disgusting.
I guess “sux 2 b u”
