During my Tea Party days, I moderated a debate among office seekers for a county position. One lady running was a black lady who had raised her son as a single mother, and he was now at Parris Island at boot camp. She was a formidable figure and had boned up on the issues. I told her I suspected her son had told the DI that boot camp was a vacation compared to life with Mama. She laughed uproariously and told me the DI had spent some time with her asking for training tips.
Hi there ChildOfThe60s, thanks for joining us this evening, and thanks to your Dad for his service to our Country!
Hey, Lauren! (((hugs)))
Good to “see” you if but for a little while! Hope things are
going well for you on the East Coast! :)
Wish I was there. LOL!

I have a son there as we speak. I will be going down in September to watch another graduation(God willing). This will be my 2nd trip in 3 years.
Thanks, lauren, for our National Anthem...humming along.

Have you been sailing yet?
Sounds like a perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon, should make that drive to experience a concert. Thanks for the info!
And what a great story, appreciate you sharing it!
Hey you!
Been thinking about you alot, wish you were here too (wish everybody was here), we would have a blast.
Also, have 2 lbs of coffee to ship to you soon per our conversation, it’s sitting in the living room. Have got to get to FedEx to ship some other stuff very soon, so I will keep you posted.
*HUGS*
Its 8,095 acres (of which 3,263 are habitable)
That is debateable.
The first time I saw an actual DI we had come out of
receiving, while waiting for a platoon to be formed.
They took us to the mess hall for breakfast.
There were all these guys that looked like prisoners
sitting there eating “square” meals, when a DI jumped
up on the mess table and began kicking the trays into
their faces and screaming obscenities at them.
I knew then, it was not a good sign.
Ah, the memories...
Wouldn’t that be a great TARD trip? :) I’d love it...and a
chance to sail on the “Welcome”.
Awesome that you have the coffee! My son is going to be thrilled. I hope you included the story of how it came about. :)
I’m happy to read that you are enjoying your stay there with the kids! I’ll bet your grandkids are having so much fun with their Grandma (what do you call yourself? LOL) so close!
Good evening to you luv2ndamend, thanks for joining us this evening, and thanks to your family for their service to our Country!
Good evening, Mayor, and thank you for today’s sustenance for body and soul.
In November, I will travel back to Asheville for the other new grandbaby, which we found out last week is a boy. 4 girls and one boy. Good luck to him!
Just call me Sugar!
Someone seems to have tripped over a cord here. The email just quite working, and now the whole system is slower than a snail. ARGHHH!!!
Thank ya!
