A new poll shows Sen. Michael B. Enzi, R-Wyo., with a considerable lead over his primary opponent, just days after Liz Cheney announced she would challenge him.
Enzi led Cheney, 55 percent to 21 percent, in a survey from Harper Polling, a Republican firm.
Earlier this week Cheney, who is daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, announced she would challenge the three-term Republican.

Yes, he wanted to tax the internets. Dumb move.
He is also a strong conservative by most measures.
Liz is strong on foreign policy but is pro-sodomite "marriage"...
I would vote for Enzi if I were in Wyoming.
if those are the only 2 choices - sad really - I guess its Enzi
What good is a strong foreign policy, if your nation collapses from within?
Enzo has had 16 years to be Wyoming,s Ted Cruz. Where is WYs resident Cruz?
GOOD Liz Cheney+Wyoming US Senate “Race” = 1st Class CARPETBAGGER!
Actually, he’s way down the list among the republicans in the senate.

I think the GOPe is striving for a social liberal female rino, to have a female face and voice as a counter to the Palin/Reagan female face of Grizzly Mamas.
They want to shape this new growth of female GOP candidates to make sure that they are female versions of the male rinos.
There are six senators up for re-election with a worse record...and is that rating a lifetime rating or a “what have you done lately?” one?
My point is that this guy is right much, much more than he is wrong—even by the reckoning of your link, it is 3/4...I’ll take it and hope Liz, if she gets her mind right on the social issues, replaces a DEMOCRAT senator. :)
Yep, civilization will collapse, but at least we won't have an internet tax!! Plus the New York Times tells me that Enzi talked to Ted Kennedy once about 10 years ago, so that makes him a RINO!!! Wooooo hooo go Liz Cheney!!
PR polls I am sure.
Lifetime ratings are useless. Politicians can vote great when they first get there, then “grow” in office and hide behind a lifetime rating.
All the percentages I used to compile the average were from 2013 or 2012, their most recent votes.
Whether Cheney beats Enzi or some other conservative, he needs to go before he becomes a Ted Stevens, an Arlen Specter, or a Richard Lugar i.e. move even further down the list. Look at Hatch lately, he’s safely reelected and like clockwork, turning left.
Enzi has been a senator for 18 years. Time to go. If the republicans retake the senate, Enzi will be chairman of the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions committee. And Enzi’s an old Kennedy buddy and handmaiden. He’ll thwart any repeal of Obamacare, etc. because he’s a go-along, get-along type.
LOL.
okay then.
Liz supports homosexual marriage.
I will not support her.
Nor, will I support any candidate who believes as she does.
Isn’t Enzi pretty good?
Enzi may not be the greatest conservative in the world, but I don’t think his record warrants a primary challenge from a carpetbagger.
I’m disappointed in her for running against Enzi. This was not the decision of a person of integrity.
He is very good , but so is Cheney and she is younger, more energy.
If you kick them all out on schedule, they’ll have no incentive or reward to stay conservative.
From all I can tell, Enzi’s one of the most conservative Senators we have. One of the few to still be staunchly illegal immigration and anti-Rubio’s amnesty, a libertarian-leaning Constitutionalist when it comes to stopping government’s intrusion on our rights and privacy such as with the NSA, a low-tax, small goverment type, etc..
Yeah, the Internet tax was a mistake and he was once part of the ‘Gang of Six’ on healthcare, though he always fought Obamacare. I’m not away of too many other blemishes on his record.
Younger and more energy? That’s a nothingburger to cover up for Liz being a big neocon who aggressively supports NSA-type intrusions on our rights, she’s really not much of a social conservative at all, she has never said anything against the Rubio amnesty bill that her father staunchly supports, etc..
She grew up in political campaigns, so she knows how to string a few lines of conservative rhetoric together, but not only does she have zero time in office to give us any time to judge, but she has raised a lot of red flags which we should consider before kicking an actual conservative out just so she can have a safe seat.
Had she done the straightforward thing and run for Congress or even Senate in VA, where her purple political positions more closely fit with the purple electorate and she actually has been a long-time resident, then it would have been very easy to support her.
Trying to do what she’s trying to do is, however, very easy for me not to support.
