Washington (CNN) -- In the emotional aftermath of the Trayvon Martin killing last year, Attorney General Eric Holder signaled the unlikelihood of filing federal hate crimes charges against admitted shooter George Zimmerman.
"For a federal hate crime we have to prove the highest standard in the law," Holder said in April 2012, 45 days after Zimmerman shot the African American teenager in what was depicted by civil rights groups as a racially motivated killing.
In words that now sound prescient, Holder described to reporters that day how "something that was reckless, that was negligent does not meet that standard."
"We have to show that there was specific intent to do the crime with requisite state of mind," he said.

The excerpt above are Holder’s last year statements. You have to read the article linked to see what he said today, which really wasn’t much.
>> the NAACP will come up with their own racist evidence
You’ve heard of a crime lab? They have a crime FACTORY.
As discussed on another thread, attorney O'Mara is doing an excellent job pointing out to reporters facts about Martin's character and behavior which were established but not allowed to be introduced at trial. It seems like a shot across the bow of the race hustlers, "Hey, if you're going to continue with the BS, we're going to hit you with the truth. Every time."
I, too, think this will fade quickly -- particularly since all those folks with a license to produce Trayvon merchandise reallllllly don't want the truth coming out.
When it is a given that a guy fired a single shot at a stranger that had him pinned down and had been beating the sh** out of him for almost a minute, it’s hard to charge him with anything other than maybe chipping the concrete with his head. And since the other guy controlled his head at the time it’s hard to make even that stick.
They will also take the looming fissure of Black vs. Hispanic that threatens the Democrat Party and blow it wide open.
The “riots” have been underwhelming. They needed something on the Rodney King scale to make much out of this.
well said.
“Hey, if you’re going to continue with the BS, we’re going to hit you with the truth. Every time.”
Courts of law are so fair in a pesky way.
“You can bet they’re looking at every possible charge against Z with and electron microscope... “
All the while Corey is going after Georges’ wife.
A sad day in the US when prosecutions are now based on mob outcries not the rule of law or facts, and not just in some rural backwater. And if the mob is not big enough send in some DOJ thugs to agitate. Justice is devolving into something seen in ancient Rome where the rabble scream for someone to be tossed to the lions.
Good point. The question in my mind, is to what extent this will be used to fan flames in order to push liberal agendas like gun control and etc.
Since we are so close to being a minority where is the
NAEA-National Association of European Americans to protect our interests?
Plenty of us were outraged when Angela Davis skated for obtaining the shotgun used by her criminal friends to blow off the head of a judge in a famous black panthers case back in the 1960s. Some of the jurors were even quoted as saying that they voted to acquit because they felt sorry for past discrimination against African Americans.
Can any Freeper even recall the name of the judge who was sacrificed on the altar of political correctness back then? Or the awful toll in the cracker riots which followed in outrage over the acquittal?

You KNOW they’re going to try. Heck, they already are trying.
The question is, will it gain traction. I think not. JMO though.
Another thing to consider: this attempted railroading has gotten the attention of the PRO-gun side. I wonder how many states will get the message and STRENGTHEN their self-defense laws to prevent the same thing from happening in THEIR jurisdiction.
This case has really brought rampant black racism out into the sunlight. I heard Jesse Jackson discussing the case and could not believe the degree of his dishonesty; almost everything he said was in direct contradiction to the evidence, even the prosecution’s!

Who's outraged???
