Snowden Nominated for Nobel Peace Prize After Disrepute Incurred for Picking Obama By Andrew Johnson July 15, 2013 11:49 AM
A Swedish professor has nominated NSA leaker Edward Snowden for the Nobel Peace Prize for his revelations of the surveillance program, but also to redeem the awards prestige after it was awarded to President Obama in 2009.
In his letter to the Norwegian Nobel Committee, Umea Universitys Stefan Svallfors argues that Snowden, who would be the awards youngest winner at 30, exemplified that individuals can stand up for fundamental rights and freedoms. Svallfors lauded Snowdens heroic effort at great personal cost.
In 2009, President Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize after less than a year in office, drawing criticism for the committees prematurity, including from Svallfors. The professor says that picking Snowden would help to save the Nobel Peace Prize from the disrepute incurred by the hasty and ill-conceived decision to award US President Barack Obama the 2009 award.
According to the Daily Mails translation of his statement, Svallfords believes Snowden to be a highly affordable candidate. Similiar past nominees include Wikileaks Julian Assange and Bradley Manning, who did not win.
The Nobel Prize has become a joke - a highly politicized, leftist fashion show.
Hahahahahahaha!
What we do in haste, we regret in leisure.
Yeah, and when Iran drops a nuke on Israel, they’ll give the Nobel Peace Prize to Ayatollah Assaholla.
So... Trayon Martin didn’t get nominated?
Snowden’s revelation (”a revealing or disclosure of something”) of the ongoing Big Brother watch over individuals is an act deserving of the Nobel Peace Prize.
“Snowden Nominated for Nobel Peace Prize After Disrepute Incurred for Picking Obama”
Hahahahaha. Sounds like some remorse from the Peace Prize clowns. Hahahahaha.
And it would keep him in the history books, where the admin is desperately trying to squash any mention of him except condemnation, especially from FNC and the GOP-e.
Whenever truth triumphs over surreptitious tyranny, peace is closer. I don’t care even if the ‘surreptitious tyranny’ is by the United States or not.
This President has said there is no Terrorism - he banned the words Global War on Terror the Pentagon had become so fond of (he recently resurrected those words in a self-serving useless tyrant speech I heard before I could throw my shoe at the TV).
So Obama has turned his and the government’s sights on old white men, veterans, conservatives, Tea Party members - white people in general (see DHS and FBI brochures).
He and his ilk prefer “Man Caused Disaster” with an emphasis on old white coots in North Georgia talking out their ass to an FBI plant who riled them up with Obama speeches.
Their entire homeland defense apparatus is spying on its citizens (ALL of them), arming up with MRAPS, ‘personal defense weapons’ (Assault Rifles for you unwashed heathens out there), billions of rounds of ammunition, black helicopters, and drones...those drones they now use ubiquitously to off them ‘man caused disasterors’ but won’t be able to help themselves from blasting a Tea Party meeting when they finally fully establish that capability in CONUS.
Yep.....they damned well should give Snowden a Peace Prize because Fuhrer Obama sure as hell abused the one they gave him so very early (because he was black).
Well I guess if “Arafat” and “Obama” can win this...by doing nothing at all for humanity...then Snowden would qualify.
We all know the peace prize means nothing at all anymore.
I’m waiting to see who wins the Nobel Prize for Best Picture. I’m betting on The Lone Ranger.
agreed. As long as the nasty a** creepy Pee-Bagger party is in power we need men like Snowden to stand up. And when they do, to be noted for their bravery.

Nothing amazes me anymore.....this nation has more than lost it’s way...it’s in the ditch!
triple bump
Shouldn’t Snowden actually release something first?
