Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) said Sunday that the Justice Department had a tough choice in deciding whether to bring federal civil rights charges against George Zimmerman.
A former prosecutor, Klobuchar said that the department would need to wait until their investigation collected all the evidence they could.
I know that investigations going on. As a former prosecutor, I know you wait until you see all the evidence, Klobuchar said on ABCs This Week.
Theyre going to have to make that decision. Itll be a tough one.

On This Week, Rep. Karen Bass (D-Calif.) called the verdict devastating.
I just am very concerned about what message this sends to the community, Bass added.
Appearing with the two Democrats, Sen. Orrin Hatch (Utah), a former chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, said he thought the verdict was accurate.
There were plenty of reasonable doubts there, Hatch said.
Rep. Tom Cole (R-Okla.), meanwhile, said it was clear that Zimmerman should have deferred more to police, and that the fallout from the criminal case would be felt for some time.
There are moral dimensions beyond the case that obviously we have to come to grips with, Cole said.

Not sure I agree, the Feds are vindictive $#!@!, especially now that they gets a free pass for all their misgivings. If nothing else their mindset is to make GZ life miserable and drain him of as much cash as possible.
I was listening to the overwrought analysis of Melissa Harris Perry on MSNBC last night. She did finally say something interesting in that her father ever time he would send a card would add to it "Keep up the struggle".
Who puts that in a little girl's birthday card? This form of child abuse explains much.
Every bit of evidence shows that Trayvon threw the first punch.
On what possible basis in real law would the DoJ charge him? He didn’t act under the color of law as the L.A. police officers did in the Rodney King case. Which brings to mind the murder of two Federal agents and over 300 Mexican citizens killed with guns from the Fast and Furious operation. That was under the color of law.
I agree with you, but the harsh reality is, they most likely will try. You can say what you want about the LA cops, ref Rodney King, but they went through it, and I predict Zimmerman will too, although I hope I am wrong.
An elephant-sized chip on his shoulder. Yes, we know, everyone can see it.
What she *really* means by tough call is now the FBI probably has the contents of TM’s cell forwarded to them by the fired IT guy. MOM has been insistent about evidence made unavailable to the defense, and has promised to attach any further suits against GZ.
Excuse me, but where was the ‘wait for the evidence to come in’ when the inJustice Department was organizing protests against Zimmerman?
The inJD has essentially disqualified itself in this case.
The “common cause” was defined by General Sherman.
The message sent to the “community” is:
Don’t sucker punch a man in a state that has a “right to carry law”. And just because you’re in a state without a “right to carry law” doesn’t mean your target ain’t packin’.
Tom Cole was worse than Klobuchar. I was looking to see if she had a grip on his manhood this morning while he was singing the poor little Skittles child song.
The only one all morning who made any sense was Dan Abrams who said the he saw the whole trial and the DOJ can investigate to its heart’s content but in the end it will file no charges because they can’t and won’t win.
I hope he doesn't cut Obama lips by accident...
The quote of course explains much of the venom against Zimmerman.
There is no room in that view for multi ethnic people who hang on to all of their roots.
Holder and those of his ilk not only do not want to all be one people, they will not countenance anyone else going down that road either.
I just am very concerned about what message this sends to the community, Bass added.
You’re right, of course.
If they do file “civil rights” charges, think a minute about what that means: it means that the feds (I won’t capitalize anything related to the federal government) can cherry-pick who they want to press charges against, and under what circumstances. Equality before the law is out the window. If they do this, you then have to ask why don’t they do this with EVERY murder/killing? Why not on every mugging? Civil rights are paramount, right?
If this happens, the counter-revolution needs to start as quickly as possible...
Have you read the replies to this blog? They state flat out lies as facts. For instance, one says Zimmerman never indentified himself as being with the Neighborhood Watch during the 911 call and this was because he wanted to go kill somebody. He did mention it. He even stated the cop’s name who had spoken at the NW meeting.
Liberal media makes up the facts and liberal voters believe them. I really believe they get up every morning and think “What am I going to be told today and how often can I repeat it?”
KevinB: I just am very encouraged about what message this sends to the community.
Exactly right. They have to make sure the old fixaroo is in before they proceed.
If they go forward, and fail to get a conviction, this would put egg directly on Obama’a face, and that is a no-no.
Of all the cases out there, don’t these people have anything better to do than conduct a Soviet show trial?
None of this would have occurred if our race baiting President had kept his mouth shut.
