(CNN) -- The George Zimmerman investigation was hijacked "in a number of ways" by outside forces, said the former police chief of Sanford, Florida. Bill Lee, who testified Monday in Zimmerman's second-degree murder trial, told CNN's George Howell in an exclusive interview that he felt pressure from city officials to arrest Zimmerman to placate the public rather than as a matter of justice. "It was (relayed) to me that they just wanted an arrest. They didn't care if it got dismissed later," he said. "You don't do that." When Sanford police arrived on the scene on February 26, 2012, after Zimmerman fatally shot unarmed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, they conducted a "sound" investigation, and the evidence provided no probable cause to arrest Zimmerman at the scene, he said. It had nothing to do with Florida's controversial Stand Your Ground law, he said; from an investigative standpoint, it was purely a matter of self-defense.

This case is a great example of why mob rule is undesirable.
Zimmerman will have a hell of a lawsuit upon his acquittal against these clowns -— and hopefully Holder, et al.
Norton Bonaparte is who I suspect of kicking this mess off.
did this guy testify before the jury
Fixed it.
I hope he can sue every one of these bastards for civil rights violations
The DOJ and Holder the racist is responsible for all of this, he is the one who sent his goons down here to protest.
This is our damn state and the feds can piss off, we have laws and if the feds don’t like it then tough.
Now there is bussing blacks in for the verdict on our dime
I think Bonaparte is the local agitator.
This man should file a lawsuit against the justice department for instigating and supporting racist demonstrations that led to his ouster and perverted the system of justice.
When Zimmerman’s lawyers finish with Sanford Florida, the city will be as bankrupt as Detroit. Serves them right to elect such slime balls for mayor and city manager.
Apparently the Martin Familys attorney Crump and Obama go back a ways...
We have previously reported that in 2006, then Senator Barack Obama was involved in a Florida case with Martins attorney Benjamin Crump and Rev. Sharpton that acted as the publicity blueprint for the Martin case.
That connection has still not been reported in the mainstream media, and itself raises serious questions about the level of coordination between the Obama administration, Mr. Crump and Rev. Sharpton.
That’s a lawsuit winner right there
Congrats Zimmy, buddy (my new best friend)!
Banana republic
I wouldn’t be surprised if top notch lawyers haven’t already tried to make contact with him and his wife. He should get 3 and mash these maggots.
If he sues...he sues American's who actually pay taxes. That said...I'd be okay with that somewhat.
What I'd rather see is...Holder and anyone else personally held liable for this travesty.
I don't hold much hope out for that though........
How often do you post a reply without reading the first sentence of the article?
