On Monday, the Broward County Sheriff’s Office released a video calling on the public not to riot in the wake of the George Zimmerman verdict, expected this week or next in Florida. The Sheriff’s Office released a statement explaining that it was “working closely with the Sanford Police Department and other local law enforcement agencies” to coordinate “a response plan in anticipation of the verdict.”
The video, titled “Raise Your Voice, Not Your Hands,” focuses on attempting to channel reaction into non-violent response. It depicts two youngsters, one black teenage boy, one Hispanic teenage girl. “Raise your voice!” says the girl. “And not your hands!” says the boy. “We need to stand together as one, no cuffs, no guns,” says the girl. “Let’s give violence a rest, because we can easily end up arrested,” says the boy. “I know your patience will be tested,” says the girl, and then both conclude, “but law enforcement has your back!”
“Let’s back up and choose not to act up, and deputies are with us, so no need to act up,” says the boy. “Let it roll off your shoulders,” says the girl, “it’s water off your back, don’t lack composure, because in one instant it could be over.” Both conclude: “So let’s make the choice to raise your voice and not your hands.” Sheriff Scott Israel says, “I’m Sheriff Scott Israel, and law enforcement does have your back.”

Not really, but they want to avoid any implication that blacks will riot if he’s not found guilty - that would weaken the narrative.
“Riot Plan” = “Lock and Load”
By the sheriff advertising his intentions, it leads the community to assume they are ‘meant’ to riot and consequently should. Sort of the LEO expecting such behavior. Not smart & possibly racist and/or profiling of an entire community.
There are two Black Americas just like there are two White Americas - the good and the bad.
The problem is the Urban Gangster Ghetto culture of 3rd to 5th generation single mothers raising illiterate and ignorant feral children in fatherless homes on government welfare payments in an environment of addiction to drugs, alcohol, violence, sexual degradation and criminal behavior.
White people growing up in similar circumstances are often no better, although their chances for getting out the vicious cycle are better than the less than 10% for blacks.
The truth is that our failed social programs have destroyed the Black family unit and condemned four generations of Black children to a world of poverty, both materially and spiritually.
The great tragedy here is that in America it traditionally (although not so much anymore) has been very easy to overcome economic poverty, but spiritual poverty is so much harder to overcome.
I tears you apart to see these you innocent Black children progress to hardened thugs as they grow up in the Ghetto Hells our failed social programs have created.

I dunno, it seem to me there’s no better way to insure a riot than initiating a widespread campaign begging this crowd not to riot.

Isn’t preparing for a riot in the event of a “not guilty” verdict racist on it’s face?
This is not about a cause or Trayvon or Zimmerman. It is about thugs who are looking for a reason to behave the way they want to. Of course they aren't rallying or demonstrating. That isn't what they find interesting/fun/profitable at the moment. After the verdict, it will be like the urban 4th of July. Although, I am sure they will be excused by the media and our President for blowing off a little steam.
I was living near LA during those riots. The riots didn’t start to calm down until the rioters realized that since they burned the post office down, they had no place to pick up their checks (it was the beginning of the month).
So it’s simple. If you riot, no EBT cards for anyone for 6 months.
That’s really the only way to communicate with the type of folks who would riot like this.

Simple way to quell or prevent rioting is to cut off public aid for anyone identified rioting.
Old Fifty-Seven-States-Stupid will be complicit, as will be the Lame Stream Media, in the event of rioting following the white Hispanic’s exoneration.

Broward is highly urbanized and even its “suburban” communities, such as Sunrise and Lauderhill, have large black populations.
I agree there won’t be riots in Sanford, because it is a quiet suburbia. Broward county is five counties away from Seminole county, where the trial is being held.
Seminole county is 9.5% black; Broward about 20.5% black.
At 16%, Florida has the second largest number of blacks per capita among states. Its black majority county is Gadsden, with 57% black, in the north, part of the Tallahassee municipal area. However, just north of there in Georgia, 17 counties are black majority.
But I do think that riots in Florida are less likely than they are in other cities around the US. Places always looking for an excuse to riot.
Oh yeh that’ll work. Black teens believing law enforcement has their back. It appears Broward County was not listening to Rachel Jeantel when she said black people don’t call the police.
Broward county better just roll out the decades tested plan of surrounding the Hood til the fires burn out and the Walmart is looted.
