Dearest FReeper-Patriots-FRiends,
Hey Y'all
The GOP House must KILL the Senates Immigration BILL, and the time for us to act is now. Today, tomorrow, this coming week!
Like Rush said on Wednesday, Free Republic was the Tea Party before there was a Tea Party.
The House is the last stop between Amnesty and saving our Republic.
We have been told that the House Leadership will meet on or about July 10, 2013 to decide on how theyre going to deal with the Senates Immigration Reform Bill.
They are caught between big money interests and the will of the people, meaning us, those they represent.
We know the House must be our firewall to prevent this odious bill from going to reconciliation.
There are two ways it can be passed. First they can bring up and debate the Senate bill, then vote on it. Thats the least likely way it will happen, they wont dare do this.
The other way it can happen is to fashion a bill that sounds goods, paying homage to even stricter border security, or some such bilge that will never be enacted.
If they do that, or anything at all with the illegal immigration issue this term, it will go to conference and be reconciled with the Senate bill.
Some of you have already had some luck with your representatives who are sympathetic to our conservative cause. A lot of people are calling and writing, asking their congressman to tell the House leadership to just say no to any debate and to any bill in any form.
There are strong signs the calls are beginning to have a positive effect. Its vitally important now, for all of us to burn up the phone lines, burn up the fax lines, and e-mail our representatives and the House leadership to KILL the Senates BILL.
All of us must do our part and also ask our families and friends to the very same, even if our US Representatives are not on our side and likewise regarding the US Reps of our families and friends.
Calls and e-mails count!
A couple of points you might want to get across:
1. Remind them of how the Senate and the House were lost to democrat leadership after the last attempted betrayal on illegal immigration.
2. Remind them (nicely and passionately) that we are perfectly capable of replacing them once again should they repeat their mistake.
3. Remind them that this bill is bad for America, bad for the economy, and bad for the workers of this country.
4. Remind them we are a party of ideas, not pandering. The idea that we will be liked more for passing the Senate bill or any kind of amnesty bill is untrue; actually its media and democrat driven.
5. Ask them not to bring up the matter for debate, not to bring ANY bill that could go to conference with the Senate. No bill, no conference, just say no! This is not something the American people want.
Speaker Boehner is playing games with his link. Try as I have, I can't live link his e-mail form like I did last week. Here it is for you all to cut and paste into your browsers:

Thanks so much, everyone!
God bless and keep you all.
Lets get this done right away!
Buuuump!
For a few pieces of silver, they chose retardation.
My name is Judas Iscariot, others call me a liberal, or a RINO alternatively. I love to support a bunch of retards destroying a nation as it temporarily makes for a few good pieces of silver to exploit.
It’s not even amnesty, it is blind celebration of fascism by retards.
The people? To Jeb Bush, the people are an "obstacle."
GOOD RIDDANCE With rhetoric like that-—no wonder Jebbie dropped out of the prez race.
PS Not one tear was shed by we, the people-—though Jebbie musta cried a river (cackle).
BUMP! Good morning! NO BILL, JUST SAY NO!
I think the House will stop the senate bill on the first pass, but they are working on their own House Comprehensive Immigration Whopper in the House Judiciary Committee, and that fact could resurrect the Schumer Republicans' amnesty plans. Trey Gowdy, chair of the Immigration and Border Security said his "conservative" constituents are "open" to a path-to-citizenship if "the border is secured." Gowdy: My CONSERVATIVE constituents say if border secured, then maybe a path to citizenship for illegals
I hope Gowdy eventually does the right thing. But remember in 2007 when amnesty pushers kept telling how hard they had been working on amnesty? To some congresscritters, spending time on a bill makes it more worthy of passage.
If Gowdy's constituents really want that
1) Even though he has been a strong anti-Obama voice up to now, I wonder if he is the right person to chair Immigration and Border Security (but if he is replaced Boehner could put in somebody even more "open" to amnesty).
2) If you are his constituent, tell him what you think. I have called his office but I am not in his district. Hell, I feel like I am getting the runaround from my own GOP congressman's staff.
We HAVE to continue to let them know we understand the process, that no bill can be brought forth that could reconcile with the Senate bill. No bill, it's not necessary, most US voters don't want this.
Our guy's staff has been very helpful, I have to say, at this point I believe them. It's been encouraging.
Trust but verify. It's why I continue to call, and continue to write.
What’s scary is that in the past when I called my congressman’s office, I was able to talk directly to staffers who knew something about the issue. Now I am getting “We’ll contact you” (no doubt a form letter composed by an intern). The staffer said, “When you are dealing with millions of people...” I don’t believe that millions of people called their office.
Who knows. Maybe I just called at a bad time. Or maybe my congressman (or his staff)has no particular interest in my knowing what he is doing, how he will vote.
I’ll keep trying. I don’t like facebook and twitter, but I have been trying to use those too. I found another constituent on twitter who seems to agree with me about amnesty. Maybe we can join forces.
Be prepared to see the Reps proclaim that the border security problem has been solved. No one is focusing on what is in the rest of the bill. Over the next ten years 33 million more permanent immigrants, more than the previous 40 years combined plus a doubling of guest worker programs--an increase of 1.6 million the first year and 600,000 thereafter.
Thank you so much for that link.
Gowdy should know better.
The border will never be secured under this admin.
I post “KILL the Senate’s BILL” on Gowdy’s Face Book every day.
BUMP
I called. Got this e-mail back:
Dear Mr. xxxxxx:
Thank you for contacting me to share your thoughts on our immigration system. I appreciate learning of your views.
I agree with you illegal behavior should not be rewarded. Our first priority should be to secure U.S. borders. For any immigration system to work, we must know who is crossing our borders and how long they are staying in our country. Since I have been elected to Congress, I have been an outspoken advocate of strong and measurable border security policies.
Accordingly, I joined the House Immigration Reform Caucus to be active in shaping immigration policy and keeping this issue in the public debate. Our nation has long benefited from the presence of legal immigrants, and I will continue to support legal avenues of entering our country.
In addition to hearing from my constituents, I look forward to carefully reviewing proposals and examining all the issues surrounding immigration reform. You may be interested to know, the House Committee on Judiciary recently held a hearing on immigration reform and enforcement. Additional information about the hearing can be found at www. judiciary.house.gov/hearings/.
As Congress considers immigration reform legislation, rest assured I will place the safety and security of American citizens above all. Thank you again for contacting me. Please feel free to do so again regarding any issue of importance to you.
Sincerely,
JOHN KLINE
Member of Congress
Thank you so much for calling and for posting the reply you received from your US Rep. John Kline, MN.
I tried the link and found nothing.
Tell the House to KILL the Senate's Immigration BILL
Please get on this right away everyone.
We have our Republic to save.
. . . . Also check out # 7.
Thanks, onyx.
In Star Trek, the Federation sent the guy (Capt. Kirk) with the strongest anti-Klingon reputation, to help negotiate a treaty with the Klingons.
Spock explained this seeming contradiction:
"There's an old Vulcan proverb. 'Only Nixon could go to China.'" (thus a politician with an unassailable reputation among his supporters for representing and defending their values (like Gowdy) does something that would draw their criticism and even opposition if taken by someone without those credentials.).
I hope we don't hear one day "Only Gowdy could make amnesty happen."
