ObamaCare's Success Depends On The Young Being Stupid

Health Reform: ObamaCare's efforts to expand insurance coverage and bring down costs depend entirely on convincing young people to buy coverage, while the law gives these people every reason not to.

A marketing presentation put together for the administration admits that convincing the young and healthy — who make up 48% of the uninsured — to buy insurance will be difficult, since they "take health for granted" and have a "low motivation to enroll."

What it doesn't say is that ObamaCare will give them still more reasons not to buy insurance.

Then we are in trouble, because they rent ringtones by the month as just one example of economic stupidity.

They voted overwhelmingly for Obama, so I’d say that their stupidity is not in question.

In that case, its success is guaranteed.

Slight correction: the whole agenda of the Democrat Party counts on its constituents being ignorant, selfish fools.

Obama’s election depended upon the young being low information voters. Now comes total exploitation in the form of ObamaCare. These are contemporary extensions of the concept of “useful idiots”.

Plus the personal part of the mandate is a joke, a fraction of what Obama-care would cost them. They can sign up after they get sick instead.

Here is a refresher course:

The primary beneficiaries of a socialist policy/program are the socialist politicians.

The Dems probably have their talking points and campaign ads ready to roll with statements like "The republicans want to take your healthcare away."

Think how many times the scoundrels said something similar about Social Security and Medicare.

That is why I have said that Obamacare will not be repealed. I would be pleased to be wrong.

I don’t care if they have IQs of .01, Obamacare STILL won’t work.

While it is true they may be stupid... this group of Americans is POOR! They are unmotivated to purchase expensive policies with coverage they don’t need.

This is a group that feels entitled for OTHERS to pay for their stuff. That is why they voted for Obama in the first place.

They will be shocked...SHOCKED! When the reality of the situation manages to sink into their pea brains.

“fools”, especially.

They’ve been raised and “educated” in a worldview that rejects the beginning of wisdom.

All we need now is an iPhone app that buys insurance. Even when you’re grievously injured in a car wreck, just “press 77 to buy insurance”, and you’ll be covered by the time you get to the hospital. The EMS crews can even be instructed to do it for you if you’re unconscious, so their bill will be covered.

I’m guessing that it’s going to get even harder to convince the young. A very high percentage, and it’ll get even worse as employers avoid Obamacare, won’t have the full-time stable jobs that provide health insurance. Their budgets are already tight. No way will they put that money into health insurance...they’ll pay the penalty. Those who are really bad of financially will get it for free, just as they do with food stamps. It’s all going to escalate the downward economic spiral the US is on.

It's success depends on the young being willing to voluntarily spend money they don't have on something they don't perceive the need for.

Good luck with that.

Right. And I'm sure the gop shoving two totally unacceptable candidates down the throats of their rank and file for two elections had nothing at all to do with this. The kids aren't the sharpest knives in the drawer but that's because the older generation treated them like little hothouse flowers and planned every waking minute of their lives for them. There's plenty of blame to go around.

Bingo. Good Proverbs reference. They seem to be weak at discerning truth and understanding common sense, possibly because they are so dstracted by media in multiple formats all oftheir waking hours. They are constantly being entertained and over-stimulated by media 24/7
