~ Hall of Heroes ~ Clifford Chester Sims Info from this website. |
|
Clifford Chester Sims (June 18, 1942 – February 21, 1968) was a United States Army soldier and a recipient of America's highest military decoration—the Medal of Honor—for his actions in the Vietnam War. |
Sims joined the Army from Jacksonville, Florida and by February 21, 1968 was serving as a Staff Sergeant in Company D, 2nd Battalion (Airborne), 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division. On that day, during an engagement with enemy forces near Hu, in the Republic of Vietnam, Sims threw himself onto a triggered booby-trap device. He was killed in the ensuing explosion, but was successful in protecting the members of his squad. Clifford Sims, aged 25 at his death, was buried in Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, Florida.

Just take it easy for awhile, ok?
You scared the customers?
LOL
Did you let out a howl when you (almost) fell?
Yeesh, the idea of you falling on your knees just makes me cringe.
If I went down on mine, that would pretty much be the end of me!

I thought about your knees as I was checking myself afterward to see if they WERE hurt. My shoulder was hurting so bad, I couldn’t even feel anything else!
I have a small bruise on my right knee, but I just did notice it. LOL!

I believe the day after he was KIA was the day of the first, and last, Airborne Paratroop assault in Viet Nam.
