WASHINGTON (AP) Taking climate change efforts into his own hands, President Barack Obama is proposing sweeping steps to limit heat-trapping pollution from coal-fired power plants and to boost renewable energy production on federal property.
Obama, in a speech Tuesday at Georgetown University, was to announce he's issuing a presidential memorandum to launch the first-ever federal regulations on carbon dioxide emitted by existing power plants, moving to curb the gases blamed for global warming despite adamant opposition from Republicans and some energy producers.

The lunatics have taken over the asylum. For the moment, the walls are still standing, but the interior is pretty much chaos, with probably a couple of dozen small blazes already ignited, and the stores of flammable materials being scattered about with gay abandon.
First, destroy all the fire extinguishers, then cut off the water flow. Panic the inhabitants, and blame the staff.
What could possibly go wrong with this plan. Of course, the objectives have to be redefined, sometimes from moment to moment, but we are making “progress”.
All the world leaders laugh at Obama, but for some reason, the Republicans still fear him.
But the Emperor runs the show.
Sad, but true.... Not a BALL among them. Not even one.
Not before it gives the Obama boot-licking lamestream media its next set of talking points to knock the IRS/Snowden/Libya/ yadda, yadda yadda scandals off the front page and out of the low information voters minds...
I remember a time, many years ago, when the Constitution laid out the powers of the Three Branches, and established an order on the way things could be accomplished.
Those days are long gone.
Republicans? Don’t hold your breath
Follow the money....who stands to gain from this?
Hussein’s motto: “Anything to hurt America.”
This is Solyndra II—start-ups by Obama donors and cronies will burn through billions before going belly up, leaving taxpayers holding the bag.
exactly
Obama is trying to change the subject from his declining approval rating and all of the scandals he is involved in, while at the same time continue to ruining the economy. The dictator-in-chief is at it again!
For instance, in this case, is it so far beyond imagination for someone to ask: "Hmm...This is likely to really hurt our economy. I wonder how much CO2 is being produced by these American power plants as a percentage of CO2 in the Earth's atmosphere?"
Hint: the answer contains many leading "0"s.
But no one is asking.
Congress writes laws. Many of them bad. Bad laws delegate regulation making authority to Executive branch entities, like the EPA. If I worked in the EPA, right now I would be scared witless that I was going to be leaned on like an IRS agent to make political calculations, rather than technical and legal judgments.
I wish we could send his “historic” ass back to Kenya.
Coal will still be mined, but instead of providing energy for this country it will be EXPORTED and burned overseas
“Is there no one in national elected office that will stand against this jackwagon?”
Stand how?
The executive controls all the guns - military and federal agencies. Congress has no power (comes from the muzzle of a gun, remember) except to defund things, and the executive can simply pay with new debt and fiat currency.
This was never about climate control or the environment: “The issue is never the real issue, the real issue is the Revolution. The cause is never the real cause, the real cause is the acquisition of power.”
The Communist coup is almost complete. The final declaration of martial law and the bloody counterrevolution merely awaits some planned event when we are a bit more weakened, and they are a bit stronger.
Democrat Party Job Killing / Economy Killing machine bump for later.......
