Massachusetts voters are heading to the polls to pick a new U.S. senator.
Democratic U.S. Rep. Edward Markey and Republican Gabriel Gomez scrambled to energize supporters and mobilize get-out-the-vote efforts in the hours leading up to Tuesdays special election to succeed John Kerry in the U.S. Senate.
Both candidates made a series of campaign stops Monday, culminating with election eve rallies while their campaigns cranked up their all-important ground games designed to get as many of their voters to the polls as possible on a day when statewide turnout was expected to be light.

Gomez can’t compete with the Mass. Dem. Machine Ground game.
Hard to believe mass. was the cradle of the American revolution
I usually know a bunch of quiet Republicans who try to get to the polls, even though elections in MA usually seem like lost causes. Not this time. I don’t know a single Republican who intends to vote for Gomez. The guy is outrageously Liberal — and I for one refuse to encourage the GOP Establishment anymore by accepting the lesser of two evils. Liberals are unacceptable, no matter the party.
Well, they are about to elect Markey, one of the biggest red commie scumbags ever to infiltrate Congress
Massachusetts is an evil place
Gomez has sworn to obey and help Obama and Sen. Warren.
Most Mass. conservatives are turned off to the impostor
who is reported to be a trained seal for the DNC.
Isnt that the dismal truth.
Look at the men from New England who founded our nation and died for it, now look at the dismal crowd of clowns they consistently elect to office in modern times
Isnt Markey the butthole who bounced $50K in checks 15 years ago?
I guess now in Boston that qualifies a man to elevate to the US Senate, to vote alongside Foreclosure Focahontas Warren
Thanks Olog-hai.
Again nothing from the RNC / McConnell to Snag all three, no game plan to win.
From what I saw of Gomez, he’s no better than Cruz or Reid.
Gomez will regret not being in the Senate and being able to vote for amnesty.
Before he even had time to unpack in DC, he was already compromising...ie selling out....to the liberals he defeated. He didn't get re-elected, losing to fake-cherokee Elizabeth Warren.
The message should've been that MA voters will elect a Republican who they believe might be somewhat conservative to hold loonies in check. Instead, the 'pub ptb run another RINO. Why vote for a liberal posing as something else in MA when you can get the real deal?
The voters of the Commonwealth are about to fail another IQ test. I can’t believe I still live here...
stalin will win either way.
LLS
His biggest sell out was Dodd-Frank, and he got his 30 pieces of Silver or Fidelity did, research the article @ Business Insider on how they got a plumb for upping the amounts for Private Placements etc that put them in the catbird seat for that. I helped get him elected, what a bleeping dissapointment he was...
When will Mass run a real Republican Conservative?
Look at the dismal crowd called the electorate. They’re the ones electing these guys...its us not them. We should look to ourselves, rather than shaking the finger at the pols.
Maybe there are none in that State.
What?!
the problem is, it is not “us” it is the people of Massachusetts who are, collectively, deranged when it comes to electing Congress members
If ONLY their actions ONLY affected THEM
But no, Markey and Warren in the Senate will work on legislation and an agenda that affects ALL OF US
I have been through this
Some pompous asshole Senator who won’t even be remembered 100 years from now, like this “gang of 8”, spearheads some legislation that will cause serious national damage, even change this nation perhaps forever
then refuses to respond to any concerned citizen unless they are a state resident -
“SORRY YOU ARE NOT MY CONSTITUENT”
