When it comes to protecting President Obama and the left-wing agenda, we have seen the media turn against its own before. Bob Woodward felt the wrath of his colleagues after popping the balloon of Obama's dishonest sequester narrative; and after numerous errors, the one that almost finally did Howard Kurtz in was the one aimed at the media's politically correct sacred cow of the week. Now it looks to be Glenn Greenwald's turn.
The recent collapse of Obama's poll numbers (and with it, much of his agenda) seems directly tied to Edward Snowden, the NSA leaker currently on the run after dropping a bomb on the troubling and hypocritical scope of the Obama administration's domestic spying. The Guardian's Greenwald broke that story and has check-mated the Obama administration with follow-ups ever since.
Between Greenwald's ongoing scoops contradicting the White House, and Snowden sucking the air out of the media while making the administration look feckless, this is a rolling disaster for Obama with no end in sight.
Sunday, some in media decided it was time to go hard after Greenwald, with open accusations of criminality coming from no less than NBC's David Gregory and Chuck Todd.
On "Meet the Press," host David Gregory gave Greenwald no benefit of the doubt: "To the extent that you have aided and abetted Snowden, Gregory asked the reporter, even in his current movements, why shouldnt you, Mr. Greenwald, be charged with a crime?(continued)

The leftwing love affair between Obama and the MSM is the single biggest problem the GOP has. Just listen/watch any MSM broadcast...Republicans are almost always spoken of with disdain...while Dems are the heroes...of most all story lines.
The UK & Canada are the only real source of journalists honestly reporting on this Administration!
The UK & Canada are the only real source of journalists honestly reporting on this Administration!
That’s the truth.
“To the extent that you have aided and abetted Snowden,”
By putting the Obama Administration on the spot? Hmm, nope, that’s not what the definition of aiding and abetting is.
Aiding and abetting is an additional provision in United States criminal law, for situations where it cannot be shown the party personally carried out the criminal offense, but where another person may have carried out the illegal act(s) as an agent of the charged, working together with or under the direction of the charged party, who is an accessory to the crime. Internationally, it is comparable to other laws governing the actions of accessories, including the similar provision in England and Wales under the Accessories and Abettors Act 1861.
It is derived from the United States Code (U.S.C.), section two of title 18:
(a) Whoever commits an offense against the United States or aids, abets, counsels, commands, induces or procures its commission, is punishable as a principal.
(b) Whoever willfully causes an act to be done which if directly performed by him or another would be an offense against the United States, is punishable as a principal.
So, for instance, even if Obama didn’t actually forge his BC himself, he aided and abetted the forger by claiming at a press conference that it was genuine?
Or if Obama himself didn’t threaten the media with FCC annihilation if they reported on his eligibility problems in October of 2008, but he had David Axelrod and Rahm Emanuel do it for him then he aided and abetted them?
And if he didn’t assassinate Andrew Breitbart himself but got somebody to do it for him, he would be aiding and abetting?
Or if David Gregory knew that Obama’s lackeys had threatened him and all the other media if they reported on his ineligibility problems and David Gregory failed to report it to the police and went along as if no crime had been committed, he would be aiding and abetting?
I think these jerkwads need to choose their words very carefully because they may end up eating them in prison - if we ever get the rule of law back...
You gotta be kidding me... The press has thrown away their credibility over a party that frankly doesn't respect them. The press won't be getting that back soon.
And what's our loss? Almost nothing. The press has worked to keep us honest... which is a favor. Not that they meant it that way...
And Dems? The press showed them no lie it too hard for them to swallow. Which hurts dems in the long run... as they become thuggier and thuggier every year.
Have you noticed that they're not the 'gentle liberals' who 'feel' anymore? More like Chicago thugs.
UK, Canadian, and Russian media are all better sources of news about the American revolutionary socialist government. Also i’d include the Asia times.
I disagree. The unwillingness of 99% of Republicans to FIGHT Obama on anything is their biggest problem. When you don’t fight, you allow the other side to carry wall-to-wall attacks. At least when you fight, they may slant their coverage but they have to cover what you say, and the more you say, the less they can slant.
We seem to have a lot of Obama Supporters and Big Government on the GOP side...too
The more the liberal media attack Snowden....I think anyone who wants to be taken seriously as a conservative American should not be siding w Obama and liberal media on this
Who, on this board, didn’t know this would happen?
The legacy media are based in very high population density cities. All big cities are leftist. They couldn't hire a balanced newsroom if they tried. The downfall of America began with the invention of the high rise skyscraper. That allowed human population densities to reach insect hive levels.
The Left is going bare naked with rage. This is good. They cannot hide or pretend. Their biases showing like a bad slip.
left wing guardian has now seen how the media here are totally in the bag for their messiah and that journalism is about getting their people elected and then covering for their corruption.
Besides, anyone operating objectively could see the disaster this man would be as a leader. Some say Ayn Rand foretold Obama with Atlas Shrugged, but it was actually Gertrude Stein, since there is no there, there.
Plus the “new media”.
