I guess they think if they get a monorail it will make them Disney Land.

“Just bring back trolley cars pulled by horses,”
Then they’d have to create a Department of Road Apple Collection Department.

For
what?
And this, after they turned a perfectly good elevated line on the west side into a freaking garden?

Sounds like a saving plan to me. A subway has three rails. A monorail has only “mono” one. It should only 1/3 as much as a subway and they won’t be under water when the ocean rises.

He expressed a wish to see monorails going down the middle of the streets, in keeping with his role as the fearless ideas man in the field. Fearless ideas man from the 19th century.

It looks like someone was going through a stack of Popular Science magazines from the 1950’s and read “Glimpse of the Modern Future”. They noticed that NYC was supposed to have a monorail by 1985 and they had better play catch up.
Not only that it's porktastic!

Well, that used to be a freight line; last used by Conrail in 1980. Never was used for transit. But it could’ve been converted, yes, if not for the NIMBYs in Greenwich Village and Chelsea (used to go all the way to St. John’s Park Terminal, but was demolished between there and Gansevoort Street).

Bloomingidiot told us that he needs money because NYC is going to sink. Now he wants a monorail to get folks to the sink hole faster?

But it was John Catsimatidis, the grocery-store baron and long-shot Republican hopeful I always wondered what Willie Green's real name was.

Ah,,,,, but the Department of Road Apple Removal Department would mean more Union jobs! No diapers for horses allowed. Hansom cabs are few, horse trolleys would be many, and all jobs would need to be Union jobs.

liberal idiots are just obssessed with fixed rail systems.
Literally obssessed. I think they all remember those slideshows of “The World of Tomorrow” as children and the first one at Disneyland, and then of course, Logans Run with the rail pods for travel, and just wet themselves.
But in keeping with the liberal mindset, they pick the most absolutely inflexible method of travel - rail - and the most costly to implement and move underground utilities and reinforce the street where the track is - and on top of that most disruptive to street traffic.
They are total idiots and should not be allowed in any decision-making positions ever.
