During a speech yesterday in Belfast, President Barack Obama criticized Catholic education, suggesting that its harmful to national unity.
If towns remain dividedif Catholics have their schools and buildings and Protestants have theirs, if we cant see ourselves in one another and fear or resentment are allowed to hardenthat too encourages division and discourages cooperation, said the President, during his Northern Ireland Visit for the G8 summit.
The Scottish Catholic Observer pointed out that Archbishop Gerhard Müller, prefect of the Vatican's Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith, recently praised Catholic education before a Scottish audience.

Well Obama may finally have found a way to unite people. Both Protestants and Catholics will hate him for those remarks.
So sayeth the Great Divider. Pure Alinsky.
LOL- meanwhile ayatollah obama thinks nothing of sending his kids to an exclusive private school rather than putting them in public school in DC...
practice what i preach- not what i practice....liberalism- a culture of hypocrisy...
Obama is waging war on Catholics world-wide, eh? Well, part of the blame for this lies squarely at the feet of the liberal and Democrat Catholics who voted him in and who keep voting (D) no matter what.
Catholic and Protestant (Pariochal Schools) are great! It is the Public School Systems that suck! Is not it odd that Obama is criticizing Catholic Schools - remember he went to one and also a Madrassa too! Muslim schools are good for garbage. Lets fight back with - Muslims Schools are good for shitite!
And Catholic educators criticize muslim US presidents. This must burn the muslim in chief to no end, not being able to do anything against the infidels.
says the man educated at a madrasa when he was young barry sorero
He barely understands American History. He totally fails in understanding World History or he would be ushering in Socialism and Communism at every turn.
Just because O’Bama has what appears to be an an Irish name, doesn't mean that he knows anything about what has been going on there between the Catholics and the Protestants.
Of course he can’t stand it. Catholic education creates intelligent citizens — his nemesis.
But he can support sunnis vs sheites (spelling problem, but what difference does it make).
If Catholics have their buildings and Protestants have their buildings ...
I guess he wants them all in one building — would that be prison/Fema camp, or mental assylum?
Too bad his satan-suppressed mind is completely fogged.
Twelve years of Catholic schooling for me - and I had plenty of Protestant and Jewish classmates. A few athiests, too. Our parents just wanted a better education for us all than what was available in the public shcool system.
When does he lecture his fellow islamists on the true nature of barbarism?
Does lecture the muslims about their medrossas, too?
If immigration amnesty passes, liberals will have a permanent ruling class in which private schools and homeschooling will be criminalized.

Not to pick nits or anything, but....
This country was NOT found on or with Catholicism.
His personal mind-set on schooling is part of the communist agenda as we all know. No more local control of the schools....plus a determined agenda for the State to eventually control the minds of all little skulls full of mush.
I was fortunate to attend a Missouri Synod parochial school. By the end of first grade I knew how to sing the whole Hallelujah chorus and had memorized all the names of the Books of the Bible.
By the end of the second grade I could recite the U.S. Constitution and the Gettysburg address by heart.
Well, I'm exaggerating a little, but not by much. What a no-nonsense, comprehensive education I received during the formative years.
I bank a lot on parochial schools and home-schooling to provide the moral, well-educated leaders on whom the future of our nation depends.
