especially interesting in a New York Times story from Friday on Iran, where they found it advantageous to edit out an America-hating Iranian who wished the Times building would burn down:

She and her parents voted at the Imam Sadegh University, where most of Iran’s cadre of bureaucrats are trained. “We hate America,” her father said, smiling. “I hope The New York Times building burns down.”

I think the Old media is living under the delusion that what they report is the gospel.
There are far too many sources of information that can refute their coloring of the facts.

They hope all of the Great Satan’s newspaper buildings burn down, whether they propagandize for them or tell the truth about them. But it’s funny to see the NYT deny reality so willingly . . . especially a reality so close to home.

One of my prime judgement points on whether or not I give a smelly Obama about their opinions is the answer to the question, “Do you respect the NYT?”
No need to give you the answer is the one indicating complete cluelessness.
Interesting turns of language. “Burn up” seems to depict burned material’s ashes flying upward (i.e. deliberately burned in some kind of furnace), while “burn down” seems to comment on the collapse of a burning structure, though . . .

The New York Times finally died several weeks ago after a long illness when it allowed a British newspaper, the Guardian, to get the scoop on it concerning one of the biggest government scandals in American history.
The NYT building is now a mausoleum housing a dead newspaper.
Somewhat like “fat chance” and “slim chance”.
If the Iranians burn down the NY Times building and the NY Times doesnt report it, did it happen?

Well I never thought I would agree with the Iranians on anything but I couldn’t agree more about the NYT building.
