Jeb Bush, arguing for immigration reform, says immigrants 'more fertile'

Making an argument for overhauling the nation's immigration system Friday to a crowd of conservative activists, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush claimed immigrants were "more fertile" and thus a great benefit to American society.

His remark appeared to be an inarticulate reference to immigrants' fertility rates, which data show are higher than native-born Americans.

"Immigrants create far more businesses than native-born Americans over the last 20 years. Immigrants are more fertile, and they love families, and they have more intact families, and they bring a younger population. Immigrants create an engine of economic prosperity,"

I think one reason the Bushes and Kennedys, and maybe the second and later generations of other prominent families, I think they all suffer from what might be called inheritors guilt. It’s something like white guilt, but it infects those who know they have inherited completely unearned wealth and prominence.

Of course, they don’t assuage their guilt by giving their unearned wealth to the poor, but by wallowing in guilt and working to allow massive immigration of poor people from third world nations. Few have worked harder for this than the Kennedys and Bushes.

And Jeb is a nitwit when he says that immigrants have “more intact families”. Has he not heard about the 53% out-of-wedlock birth rate for Latinos, a large number of whom are recent immigrants, or first and second generation Americans.
