Why is it necessary to legalize the roughly 11 million currently-illegal immigrants in the U.S. before newly enhanced border security and internal enforcement measures are in place? Sen. Marco Rubio, the leading Republican on the Senates Gang of Eight, says part of the reason is that the federal government cant afford to secure the border on its own and needs financial help from the immigrants themselves, in the form of fines paid when they are legalized.
Rubio made the statement during a radio interview after he voted against an amendment from Republican Sen. Charles Grassley that would have put off legalization until after the border is secure a position supported by majorities of voters across the political spectrum. Host Andrea Tantaros asked Rubio why he opposed something that was important to so many in the Republican party?

Sorry, Rush is allowing it himself. He’s a GOP man; he’s never done much aside from kick the tires. He doesn’t name names often, just points out ‘they all do XYZ’.
Levin at least let’s ‘em have it, once in a while, but falls into the same stupor as Rush.
Hannity...he’s an ass kisser; I really wish there was someone else in his time-slot on the way home. I’ve had just about enough of his ‘limited gov’t, except for SS, the safety nets and ....’
Savage/Boortz...now those were two I can rely to give it to me straight.
Oh Moses smell the roses. Can we not elect anyone who does not become a moron once the assume office?
What a lame ass reason. Hes grasping at straws now.

He is indeed. It’s somewhat analogous to saying “Hey, let’s free all our felons from prison so they can pay for their incarceration”.
I believe, deeply, that God has been keeping score. If it were possible to shock God and the Angels, the late term abortionists have done it.
I appreciate your point, but I do draw the line when it is said he is a Conservative. No, he really isn’t. Conservatives don’t sell out their nation. Leftist do.
That’s why I will never vote for anyone with an “r” after their name. If they run as a republican, they’ll act like a republican and vote like a republican once they’re elected. We’ve seen it time after time with the exception, so far, of Ted Cruz.
Why would Rubio care what we or Rush thinks. He’s got 5 years left in his term.
You're right. If it's going to take 10 years, let's get started...
The GOP is apparently under the impression that if they just keep changing the shade of lipstick, we’re going to forget that its on a pig...here, try this lovely shade of dollar green? No? Ok, how about bloody terror scare red? No? Ok, now try some Brown-noser tan...
Now when any politician uses "It will take ## years" I know they are full of it
and are completely useless and unable, unwilling, and just plain stupid enough to get nothing done.
Yet another GOPer sellout/traitor. Gee....I’m shocked, I tell ya!
Pitchfork time YET????
I’m starting to think that DC is like the megatropolis of podding stations (Body Snatchers circa 1978). Republican politicians start out at least half-@ssed honest, logical and conservative. Then once in DC long enough (they have to sleep some time)....they become podded and converted to slavering mind-numbed leftists. That’s the only logical explanation....
besides Satan’s handiwork.
The actual quote:
“We need to register them as soon as possible, not just to keep the problem from getting worse, but were going to require them to pay a fine, and thats the money that we are going to use to pay for the border security,”
That, is an a$$hole statement, as a$$hole of a statement as I’ve heard (this week). I’ve refrained from going off on this guy cause he’s not a liberal RINO, he’s not even John McCain, like Mel Martizez before him he’s a conservative, cept on this.
Take your head out of your butt before you suffocate, Rubs.
We cannot have Hispanic Republicans that push amnesty, we need more Ted Cruz’s, not this shite.
I was absolutely hoodwinked by this fraud, Rubio! Worked for his campaign and really believed in him. I’ve been hoodwinked! Should have listened to one famous FReeper about Rubio. I was hoodwinked, I tell you! HOODWINKED!!!
Rubio was elected in 2010 (remember, he fooled the Tea Party people).
The Fruad known and Rubio has a little under 4 years left in (hopefully) his last term.
Senate Republicans should be talking about changing the conditions in Mexico that fuel illegal immigration. Mexico is a land of untapped potential and riches, all in the hands of a selfish oligarchy. Reversing illegal immigration will be cheaper than trying to absorb wave after wave of hungry, desperate illiterates.
Is it true that the illegals only have to pay a $500 fine?
If so, let’s make that offer to NONillegals, who have not broken our laws, and tell illegals to GET IN LINE!
Rubio has been a huge disappointment, especially when he puts a different spin on illegal immigration, when he speaks in Spanish.
But in his defense, I have to say that he still has been excellent on all the other conservative issues, including pro-life issues.
