I hate to say it, but to be fair to the voters, Christie should select a Democrat.

Christie already has NO CHANCE for the Repub nomination in 2016, no matter who he appoints.
After the Mitt fiasco, what idiot would nominate (or vote for) another East-Coast Liberal RINO?

Can anyone name any Democrat governor who ever named a Republican to an open Senate seat?
To: Hojczyk
It doesn’t matter much....he could appoint a conservative ( if there are any left in NJ), the. The dems will retake the seat in 2014

By trying to satisfy both sides. He’ll pick an Olympia Snow-like RINO. Then again he could pick himself.

There is no problem for Fat Christie.
He will either appoint a liberal democrat or a liberal Republician.
You can rest assured he will NOT appoint a conservative.
To: Hojczyk
I have not been keeping up.. or I would have realized why Obama has been so attentive.
Christie will "repay" Obama and appoint a Democrat.

The dem brand is quickly falling, so Chris better do the right think and appoint a conservative.

I hope he selects a Democrat, state will go Dem anyway in 2014. But that will cancel his Repub ticket.

Watch for the “peaceful continuty” BS to start here and on the MSM.
A democrat would not fear such propaganda.
Christie should and must nominate a REAL republican not a RINO.
If the nominee pisses off mccain, it is a potential good choice.

Christie’s not in a difficult position at all. The only way he’ll find himself in a difficult position is if he appoints one of his DEM or RINO allies to the senate. He can just go ahead and switch parties in that case.
