In 625 B.C., metal coins were introduced in Greece.
They replaced grain — usually barley — as the medium of exchange.
Stamped with a likeness of an ear of wheat, the new coins were lighter and
easier to transport than grain, and did not get moldy.

I guess it would be easier to transport. LOL!

Once again, my day has not gone as planned. I'm ready to rip the phone out....it won't stop ringing.
And nothing earth shattering. (I wrote this 90 minutes ago.)

I can think of three places where the battery might be:

1) In her phone, where it belongs,

2) In the little box on the side table with all the other batteries and phone chargers, or

3) In the kitchen junk drawer, if that's where you keep fresh batteries!

We had this discussion at lunch yesterday, Piper and I. We talked about American farmers turning their corn into Bourbon to make transportation easier and to make more money.

Thanks for the help. It took forever and 2 broken thumbs, but I finally got the battery cover off (I was hoping to see the replacement battery...but it is not).

I went through my Dad’s drawers where he kept stuff like that, just in case I had given it to him. Not there.

I didn’t think to look in the kitchen junk drawer...IF I gave it to him, it is possible he put it there. I will look tonight.

In the meantime, I’ve ordered a new one, but it will take a week to get here. It was fully charged this morning, so I will check it first thing when I get home and see if she needs to charge it mid-day til I get a new one.

Thanks, HJ, for the helpful hints for my search. Maybe it will turn up as soon as I get the new one. d:o)

The minute you get the new one, the old one will show up. LOL!

It took about four hours to mow and edge our and the neighbor’s lawn today. I can’t believe how much the grass grew since we left for Kansas. Inside now to cool off.

You must be whipped! Yes, it’s amazing what a little rain will do for a lawn! :)

Well, the lake got a little boost from the rain. We still need heavy rain upstream to fill the lakes here.

I had one weed eater decide to feed all the string at once, so I have to try to fix that. Just when I was in a hurry and something quits.

Hey, my paycheck is short $39.95! What'd you do with my money!?

My usual answer to this....the government let the Bush tax cuts lapse, so your taxes have gone up. I have to bite my tongue NOT to mention obummer did it!!

We have many, many more folks whose checks are seldom the same, than salary or normal 40 hour weekers.

The question most often heard is, "You didn't pay me the right hours. You shorted me". And my answer is we pay you the hours turned in by whoever does your payroll, probably your supervisor. You need to talk to them about hours turned in. Of course, they never hear the reason, just repeat "you paid me wrong". BUT...I persevere, and repeat as many times as necesary that I cannot help them. They must talk to their supervisor, agree on hours owed, and then the supervisor will let me know any additional hours needed. And, no, I will not call the supervisor...you need to work it out between you. I hear back from maybe a quarter about more hours due.
